Handicapped People? I Don’t See Any!

After searching the net and finding the inspiring story of a Down Syndrome boy who had not only overcome amazing obstacles, but is out there doing things I couldn't even begin to do, I came to this conclusion: There are no handicapped people, only people who handicap themselves with their own mindset.

David J "I’ve come to the conclusion that there are very few truly handicapped people. The only handicap I see is a very poor mindset...All of these people that want things handed to them, who try to find ways that make them less capable than everybody else need to wake up and get some dignity. "

For many people with a disability it's true for them everyday but they've mostly learned to live with it. I understand this article's promoting self-reliance and many disabled people would like to be as self-reliant as they can. However for some total self-reliance where they can drive their own car, read the bus stop, pay their own bills or walk isn't practical or possible. Help the disabled to be as self-reliant as they can but within reason.
