Larry Miller This quide contains some questionable advice but is relatively harmless.

#9. In most cases this will do nothing for performance. Windows priorities do not work as commonly believed. Never set the priority of a service to "Real Time". This could prevent critical system processes from running, leading to a lockup - or worse.

Do not attempt to alter the priority of system processes.

It is generally more useful, and safer, to lower the priority of a process that will run for a long time. This will reduce it's performance only slightly and make the system more responsive.
