This is an unfair article. I do not own a Ameriplan Membership nor do I market the service. But, they seem to be writing this article from the point of view of an employee. I you are an employee you get everything paid for, business cards, training websites etc. However, when you own your own business, you have to pay for that stuff. I am a golf instructor. Is the PGA of America a rip off, if I fail to generate any lessons? Is my website a failure? No...With Ameriplan or any mlm you are in business for your self. How do people forget this? If it were easy everyone would do it and no one would make money. Any time you own your own business you pay for the marketing, training, etc. Get used to it, or stay an employee. |

I don't have that experience at all. I signed up, it cost me $50 and I have had a very successful time selling the dental plus plan. I promote the business to grow it like I would any other new business, In two months, I have sold twenty medical plans. Hand out your biz card, brochures and place ads on the internet and it will work. |

Oh boy, this Mr Garvin writing the article...just discrediting himself with such an infantile article.
Come on Mr. Brian Garvin, seriously man, I don't mean to sound unprofessional in my critique here, but your article is absolutely worthless and naive...why waste your fingers strength writing it...?
Some kind of personal revenge or something...?
Addressing your "pseudo facts" would be stooping |

I just left a "interview" with Ameriplan - about working for them from home. I got about half way through your article and was jusy blown away by your inaccurate words. Seems more like you got screwed some how and have to take it out on everyone else. Call me unimpressed. I myself AM a little weary about working with Ameriplan because of the money they want from ME to work for THEM - but that's why Im researching. Didn't realize not only would I have to hunt the information down & harass the Ameriplan people here, but now I will also have to watch out for the bull crap from people like you. What an eye opener. |

I would love to know your resources when you coverd this and then reported it against Aplan the object in question about the card was a lie and some reps who started that are no longer a rep just as the other gentleman said an old event long since taken care of we IBO,s strive to be an honest hard worker in our own home biz as we teach and save people money your kind tries to destroy this. Yes some people are disgruntled former reps who in part try to get even with Perhaps Aplan or a rep who was not a good teacher I had that experience with a enroller who after signin up gave me no time he also is gone but my desire to be apart of Aplan neve went away and I have stuck to it and build my business with one of Ameriplans top Earners and she has never I repeat never done any of the things you mentioned this is a very incorrect asumption of Ameriplan and irs opportunity |

I am a Ameriplan Rep and all these things that I see that you wrote was done along time ago they are no longer done or accepted by Ameriplan or other reps yes things like that diminish true hard working reps as well as articles that are simply out dated as well some former reps upset they never made any money simply because they really never did what they wee being trained to do just show your business to the right people. This is a business is set up just like insurance commission you make a sale or signup and you receive your commission and as long as that customer remains as like an insurance person paying their premium the Rep makes a residual commission it is not set up to fraudulently lead people its set up simple and we do save people money and their ar very prominent Doctors in my area who are providers who accept Ameriplan as well and provider groups I have never heard of the $2500 card thing this gentlemam needs to verify facts and not write fiction for other than an old outdated fact that is no longer the exception but in place is an honest Opportunity for right people who are looking to make extra money and save people money. These same people who quote these are just stiring up something they really have no factual backing just unsubstantiated un truths |

WOW! Brian, are you sure you are in the right business of reporting? I thought reporters were to get the Facts straight. I am surprised by your lack of truth and I am concerned about what you write about Ameriplan and other companies. I think the community needs to just overlook your writing since you obviously have no clue what you are talking about. I have been with Ameriplan for 3 years and have not ever heard of a credit card nor have I have ever heard of someone paying for their training. I am an National Sales Director and I TRAIN ALL FOR FREE! As far as leads go, we do not promise people leads. They have to work for them by marketing his/her business. Not sure where you got that one either.
And lastly, there are hundreds of nationwide companies ion board with us like Walmart, JC Penny, Sears, Pearl Vision, Walgreens etc. They are very proud to be with us as we are with them.
Get your story straight! IBOs that make money in Ameriplan are the ones that work hard at it like anything else they would do. Rebecca Lomis-Stephan Ameriplan National Slaes Director |

I cannot believe the untrue story of Ameriplan that I am reading. In no shape, form or fashion is this company a scam! I have been with Ameriplan for quite awhile now and have had nothing but posative experiences. The savings are wonderful and legitimate. |

What they don't tell you is you make 0 residual commission off the 40 people needed to get your 4 "IBO's" to RSD and you to SRSD. Any business they put on the books prior to you reaching SRSD, you make nothing... |

I find the above article very disheartening as it is untrue in many ways. Being an MLM company there are organizations and they each train different. So, to say company requires a person to write out a list is simply wrong information. Maybe, there are some who choose to work that way but not all IBOs do.
Next thing that really blows me away is the fact that this person is claiming there is a 2500.00 credit card that costs 249.00? I've been with the company since 2005 and I've NEVER heard of such a thing. AmeriPlan does not offer a credit card for medical bills... Where this information came from I have no clue but it seems to me the above person needs to do a little more research into our company.
Our company is with DNB, The NADP, DSA and the Consumer Health Alliance. We do have 30k Dental Providers and growing constantly. We are with close to 60k pharmacies as our Pharmacy Card is with Health Trans, our vision services are accepted where Coast To Vision is taken and that is in many places as well.
And another thing that is WRONG... A person does NOT pay for their training unless they choose to train outside of AmeriPlan or their organization. What a person is paying for is the monthly overhead cost. Any business owner has overhead. That is what it cost to run a business on a day to day basis. With our overhead we are given websites, The Dental Plus Program, Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance and much much more. Training is offered through the organization a person joins in and that is FREE.
I sincerely hope that a person who reads the above article does more research on this as this article is false in many ways. |

WOW where did you get your information? I am a National Vice President with Ameriplan and I have worked with them for 16 years the first 6 1/2 years as a consultant then the balance as a IBO. We do NOT offer a person a credit card! The reason I signed up to sell the plans was because i had saved so much money that I was a true product of the product. Also we do not charge for training! I am the number 3 income earner and I have hundreds of fellow IBOs make a full time living helping people save money. Also we have 10 times more members/customers that IBOs. We call that a clue. If you are going to represent your self as a consultant or some kind of MLM guru you should do your home work before blasting a company with FALSE information! It’s obvious that you don't know what you are talking about. I am a single mom and I have been with Ameriplan for 2 years and I earn $3000 a month. Ameriplan is a well known and respected company. I particularly found interest in how you mentioned that AMERIPLAN brokers have to PAY. Um, well yeah! I don't know of any business you can own where there is no cost involved. We have a very very very low monthly overhead of only $50. Please, tell me another business or franchise you can own with a monthly overhead that is this low. You mentioned this cost covered training. Again, not true. However I won't try to address all the inaccurate statements you made because there are just too many. But, the $50 overhead is not for training. We get one on one training and support for free the entire time we are with the company. The $50 overhead covers an amazing high tech Back-Office website. This is where we enter all of our applications, send emails, check on our team members and our paychecks. Basically we run the business from this website. Also we get several e-commerce websites of your own completely up and operational with our own URL. Domain name, hosting, web site design and maintenance is all included there. We have a huge broker support center that processes all the applications and paper work for us. Those are full time employees there supporting us. Those people get paid too, that’s part of the overhead. Back office accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and credit card processing is covered as well. As IBOs with the company we don’t keep any inventory in our homes so AmeriPlan mails the new IBO packages and the membership packages with their provider books and health plan cards….they do that for us and cover all of the shipping costs. Also our entire families receive the dental, vision, prescription and chiropractic benefits that we get working with the company from day one. Our $50 overhead covers this and much much more. So many things you said were not true…actually, most of what you said was not true. I encourage anyone looking into a home business to research the company thoroughly and talk directly with others who work with the company. Brian, although I respect your right to voice your opinion, you should be careful how you do so. There is a difference between fact and opinion and here you state your opinion as if it is fact. I encourage you to please research the company, even call Ameriplan Directly and ask all the questions you would like. Then, armed with the facts, rewrite your "unbiased" review of Ameriplan. – Amy Shapiro To learn facts about Ameriplan google "ameriplan amy letts". |

I do not dispute the writers right to voice whatever opinion he may have, but I do feel that there is a responsibility to be accurate and truthful. There are many misstatements, misrepresentations and outright lies in this posting. In addition several of the items mentioned in the article, have not been company policy for many years. It is not fair to discredit this fine company unfairly and falsely when there are hundreds of thousands of members that are saving money every day, tens of thousands of Independent Business Owners that are making money daily with AmeriPlan, It is also not fair to demean the hundreds of thosuands of healthcare professionals that are providers for the discount health plans and are providing much needed services to AmeriPlan members. If the writer can substantiate and of the derogatory statement that were made, i would like to see the proof. |

Lack of education always brings about false or misleading information. When conducting reviews about a business consider first researching the tools and business plan the particular business has to offer and how it could benefit the new recruit in his or her start up.If you only look for the hand outs your data will be inaccurate. |

Not sure where you got your information from, especially since it was published not that long ago. I've been an IBO with AmeriPlan for a year and 1/2 and have never hear a single thing that you wrote in your article. Why are you publishing lies that are disheartening to those looking for a solid company like AmeriPlan? I've used the benefits and have saved over $3000 in a year with them. I've had 2 dr's and 1 dentist tell me they love being a provider with our company. We do teach and help others be successful. Because of the teaching I've received, including an all-expense paid trip to Dallas for training at the company headquarter, I'm making a solid income and am proud to be a business owner with this company. Please represent us truthfully in your site. |
