I need help. My one year old daughter has a yeast infection. I called her doctor and they won't see her for another three weeks or tell me what i can do to cure it. If anybody knows anything thu will help Atleast ease her symptoms please let me know. I don't like the idea of her living with a yeast infection that long. |

I think your website is archaic and down right insulting. A quote from one of your articles "Infant yeast infections can also be caused by the mother failing to keep female infants clean in the vaginal area", guess what, it's 2009, fathers actually have roles in raising infants. |

Well, as a Health Care Provider to Women and Infants, I think this site is nothing less than horrible! I was just surfing because my 13 month old foster daughter had a yeast infection. How dare you make mother feel terrible about the way they provide care to their infants! You should be ashamed of yourselves! Excuse me, but one of the MAIN reasons an infant gets a yeast infection in the diaper area is NOT neglect. Have you ever thought of a product call "ANTIBIOTICS"? My foster daughter has her little diaper changed when it becomes wet or soiled, her is cleansed with EVERY change with wipes, (not just with poopie diapers like some people do) and she had NEVER had ONE diaper rash within her first year of life! But, after a course of Amoxicillin and then IV Rocephin for a high grade fever and respiratory infection, she GOT A YEAST INFECTION! I just feel bad for moms how care very well for their infants and then are slapped in the face with this. |

I think you need to remove this post! What an idiot! He has NO degree of any kind - nor does he seem to know of what he speaks. yeast infections being passed from mother during birth?! Or inappropriate bathing?! What the Heck does that mean anyway? Explain yourself - just what is "inappropriate bathing"? How about the comment that Yeast occurs most commonly in "sickly" children and babies? How many new moms have read this and blamed themselves for causing a yeast infection - or thought their child sickly because of this post?!
I'm raging mad! I don't care that he posted this nearly 1.5 years ago - that just means more innocent people might have believed this shiet!
Both my kids (1 girl, 1 boy) suffered terrible yeast infections on their exterior genetalia until they were out of diapers. We tried everything - from changes in my diet (while I nursed) to changes in their diets, to being naked 90% of the time, to allergy testing, to oatmeal baths etc... it seems now, as though my poor kids probably came by it genetically - my mother said I too suffered, but the MDs thought it was severe diaper rashes. Something they told me initially as well - until I pushed!
Both of my kids were delivered by C-section. Both of my kids were bathed appropriately. Both of my kids were/are healthy as can be. In fact, neither one has even had so much as a real cold in over 2 years (knock on wood)!
Please remove this post and tell Brian - that he should stick to giving advice on computers and grandbabies - and leave the medical advice to the medical experts... PLEASE! |

I don't think it's fair to only name the mother to blame for " failing to keep female infants clean." Why isn't Daddy, Nanny, or Auntie to blame? |

"Infant yeast infections can also be caused by the mother failing to keep female infants clean in the vaginal area"
The previous quote was copied and pasted from your article. I find it odd and slightly offensive that you think the mother is solely responsible for her daughters vaginal hygiene. My husband changes just as many diapers as I do. We live in an egalitarian society these days - catch up. |

I just find it intereseting that you say infant yeast infection is caused "by the mother" not keeping the baby's diaper area clean. That assumes no fathers are present, I guess? |
