Monsters, Fact or Fiction?
Are there monsters or not? We have heard about the good old Nessi, but there are numerous other cases of found monsters that scientists can not agree upon. Interesting really!

If this is about sea serpents, I think you should stay under one thing only not change to another subject about GOD. I have a project to do on Sea serpents not God. |

Again an interesting article. The sarcastic sentence " Okay so now my ancestor is a monkey I have no purpose in life and all the animals evolved over millions and millions of years..." I appreciate because it is a good dig at people like me who rather believe in science/Darwin. Humour is important in life even when it is a bit at one's own expense. Problem with my "non belief in a supreme being who decided to create us all" is that when our time has come we can't enjoy a small victory when answering to Darwin instead of God. Because when we were right we won't enjoy a moment of "See, there is no God". Only nothingness awaits. Any which way we lose, even if we "win" the bet :-) Not fair! ;-) So in a way I should envy religious people for they have a certain hope my down to earth scientific orientated mind can't share. Besides, as long as God or Allah or any other "supreme being" is not forced upon me I have no problem when others chose to believe, if it offers comfort who am I to spoil the fun? And a bit of mystery colours life, hence I like to find out about "missing links" on pages like these. Nice article and food for thought again. Carry on... |

While I wouldn't dispute that there are many creatures in the ocean we are ignorant of (the mast majority of the ocean is unexplored), using sea "monsters" as evidence of God is a huge stretch. First, it should be noted that the modern existence of a creature we consider a "link" does not disprove the theory of evolution. Just because some apes may have evolved into humans does not mean ALL apes became people. One group may have evolved in order to survive in new areas while another group stayed behind in a region that didn't change much and so did not evolve. Such isolation could easily (or not so easily, depending on how you look at it) be found in the ocean. Secondly, and most importantly, this article completely overlooks the volumes of scientific evidence which all conclude that the Earth/Universe are much older than what the Bible states. Geology, chemistry, physics, astronomy--they all point to a much older age. |
