Me Nice job! I'm in a Sunday-school class where our teacher is explaining to us the many different worldviews, and showing us how to formulate logical arguments against them using the Bible and evidence of god in the world around us (and he is also us teaching how to argue from their point of view to help us better understand those views). 5/26/2011
S L Zimmer Most human beings are wired for survival and self-convenience, even if that entails self-delusion and a psychosis-like belief in something blatantly fictional (such as dogmatic religions) to facilitate that sense of psychological comfort, self-importance and well-being. Only a relatively small percentage of the population seem able to break those psychological & culturally indoctrinated shackles, shed their intellectual cowardice, & embrace a much starker (yet still potentially beautiful) natural reality, even if that introspective realization may bring some sadness & depression in the process. Most enjoy the blissful ignorance of religion and rationalize it as only the earnestly deluded can. The rest of us embrace the honest pursuit of the truth, reason, and rationality, even if it may bring us less personal fulfillment and comfort knowing that 'inconvenient truth'. Peace. 7/3/2010
April F. Well, first and foremost, Christianity did not / does not have the only reliable explanations concerning life, man, and God. The book of Psalms is Judaic. Remember, Judaism and the Hebrew Bible were around way before Christianity was even thought of. Seems to be ridiculous to take a book that belongs to a different religion and claim it as a christian book. Secondly, Genesis 1:26-27 does not speak of a Trinity. No where in the old testament (which is actually called the Hebrew Bible) does it ever mention G-D as more than 1. So speaking of Gen 1:26-27... you have to think of what G-D created before... Animals. G-D is saying, let us make man in our image... with the soul of G-D and animal insticts that every man has. The instict to have food, shelter, etc etc. Thinking that way, you have a better understanding of how man came to be. If we were made ONLY in the image of G-D there would be no fault in us, we would be perfect. But as we all know... we are not. 2/16/2009
