Dog Genetics: The Widespread Problem Of Canine Genetic Disease

Genetic disease in the dog is a major problem so much so that dog breeders annually spend more than 500 million dollars addressing the problem! To date more than 500 genetic diseases have been described in the dog and on average every single dog has at least 4 to 5 defective genes...no wonder the problem is so widespread!
