Weight Watchers Food Points and Point System

The weight watchers point system is based on a formula that includes calorie, fat and fiber content and results in a number between 1 to 10. The member is allowed a certain number of weight watchers food points both daily and weekly based upon their starting weight. There are those however, who don’t like diets that make you count calories and make dieting so complex like the weight watchers points system.

nnuunnyyaa to do weight watchers you need to know how many points your allowed to have! but because no one that creates these sites takes that into consideration I have to search the whole world internet just to find my points! 7/14/2008

Robin Castle It's very apparent this reporter has never actually LOOKED at the WW material. WW does NOT try to make you believe you can lose weight and eat without restriction. It's about PORTION CONTROL, which is heavily stressed. You don't need calculators to figure out points because the "very complex formula" is never given out, you just use the provided slider, which goes higher than 10 points. A person's dietary needs not considered? That's why WW preaches the 8 healthy guidelines heavily. I think a closer inspection of the WW material would be very helpful for the accuracy of this report. 5/24/2008
unonmus How many calories can you eat a day? 4/15/2008
Kat I have lost over 30 pounds on Weight Watchers and am now a lifetime member so I attend meetings for free. I have never been a rigid point counter like many people, and I admit that would make me nuts. I got an understanding of how many points most things have by using online WW in addition to attending the meetings at work every week. In my group at least half of the members have reached their goal and are lifetime members. The convenience of having meetings at work has really helped me. Also Weight Watchers is not just a diet it helps you make lifestyle changes and encourages exercise. You get activity points which means you can eat more. This has been a great program for me.
