Mark U This is just marketing to sell an alternate diet plan. I know many people on low carb lifestyles and they arent listless and inactive. Show me a plate of noodles in the wild, how about a helping of ice cream or a soda pop. People for millions of years have eaten low carb in the wild, and ran, hunted and lived life to the fullest. Low carbs works, we are just spoiled to the easy life and do not want to work for our health. Lets just keep the insulin cranking so we all end up with diabetes and heart desease. Use the brain nature gave you people. 9/18/2009
Scott If Atkin's plan did not work for you then you were doing something wrong. In theory and in practice it is a sound plan. 5/14/2009
Bob If you felt like crap throughout your "low-carb" diet experience, you simply weren't doing it right. You have to force yourself into ketosis, which I can attest takes a couple of days, after which you feel absolutely normal in every way. Finally, you didn't mention any sort of exercise program. Any diet should be coupled with moderate cardio and heavy resistance training. I'm not claiming to be an expert, for what I've mentioned are literally just the BASICS. Educate yourself and try harder next time 4/11/2009
ziggy i think your forgeting something very important FIBER you can eat as much fiber as you want it doesnt count as a net carb

and there for you can eat as much as you want of selected vegetibles like broccoli because they have lots of fiber and fiber and carb total is combind on the package so 2 fiber 4 carbs = just 2 net carbs

i have been on the atkins low carb diet for 5 years now and i am doing GREAT

Col Thanks for your comment Dorian. But if you read the article, it says this is a personal experience & I also state that these diets do work for some & definitely on paper. 4/14/2008
Dorian There are many errors in your account. Atkins does not eliminate vegetables, and it does not eliminate carbs, it restricts them. In fact, Atkins requires most of the daily carb intake to be from vegetables. Do your homework before you make a statement that something doesn't work. 1/1/2008
