Fatima Ahmed Moosa, keep going! Thank you. 9/1/2007
Hamin in a fully-fledged dictatorship all such things as vote rigging, killing etc are a common place.. Think about Saddam Hussein who had won by 100% in elections...In such regimes the despot's say is the law. It is as plain as the nose on your face the votes were rigged in the Maldives like always. 8/31/2007
mohamed I am not a member of any party. But i belived that Mr. Ahmed Moosa suspection is not true. This election is free and fair election. People like ahmed Moosa must belive that in a competition there are winners and loosers. My advice to him and his party learn from this lesson. 8/29/2007

Ahmed Naseer Ahmed Moosa is a brave Maldivian, doing all he can round the clock to bring change to his people. For the past three to four years the struggle to become free has found new wings. Reformists of all colours have never been so openly defiant, as they are now, in the face of this brutal dictator and his paramilitary forces. This Referendum, yet again exposes the corrupt underbelly of the Gayoom regime, its total lack of concern to internationally accepted standards of free elections. The two most powerful clans, one belonging to Gayoom's wife, Endheri Clan and the other, his own family, the Kaaminee Clan are believed to have helped rig this vote. Technically, cases or complaints can be filed in the civil court, and hence, the MDP is busy helping individual citizens file their cases regarding loss of right, and irregularities observed. This is mainly to keep a clear record of the vote rigging and related misuse of power by government bodies and the dictator's cronies.
People Power takes different shapes, given the stark differences that exist in different communities. Historical truths finally may decide the face of such citizen power, as we Maldivians find our feet to walk the road to Freedom.
Thank you for the interview..
Best regards,
