The Thera volcano was 70 miles from Crete (not 10), and there is no evidence its impact of Crete was very serious. Atlantis was exactly where Plato said -- a ways beyond Gibralter and facing Gades (Cadiz). It was a supervolcanic island that exploded in the 17th century BC. -This was a culture that placed Poseidon in the center of everything, everything revolved around him. Every time that you place a false god in the position that God himself should occupy, then it should be expected that nothing nice is going to come about. God wants us for Himself…not something that is false, you might think that this is bad or not fair but just remember, He is the One Who created us after all, so why should we not worship only Him. God, the Creator of the Universe deserves our worship. Poseidon is a nice myth …

I think Atlantis isn't real because of all the water pressure would push down on Atlantis and break the city.

I found this to be a nice place to point people to who want to know what atlantis is about. I just have to remember to tell them to ignore the last paragraph as some people beleive that God is a myth as well. |
