The melting of glaciers is required for the survival of many communities worldwide. If this melting increases abnormally it will have negative effects of tremendous proportions.

Andy i think your to tunnel minded , looking at it from a geologists piont of view , this is just another piont in which we rise , Co2 levels rising , doesnt completly coincide with temp rising , usually its temp goes up and then carbon , with a 800 year lag period, im afriad this report wasnt very helpfull, and was too one sided , some of your facts was write , but bebing a geograpgher , geologist etc means your a scientist , meaning you need to give two sides of a story , or you just as bad as the untrained , Al Gore 10/8/2009
