ayushi pandita I must say that it was extremely helpful to me and i got to know how we are destroying our earth with our hands only and how should we save our earth, our lives. 7/14/2011
Lolipopsicle Beautiful! I will do as much as I can to help global warming! This will be fun... 5/11/2011
brandon b Try to reduce burning fossil fuels wherever possible (automobile exhaust is a major cause). Cycle instead of using the car for short distances; it will not only help the environment, but will make you fitter too. Make use of energy saving electrical and electronic equipment. Switch off lights and air-conditioners when not required (even if it is for a very short duration). Do not use any product that contains CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons). CFCs in any products are banned in the US, but could be an ingredient in aerosols and cleaners manufactured in other countries. CFCs deplete the atmospheric ozone layer and allow harmful ultraviolet rays to penetrate and reach the earth. Deforestation must be curbed as much as possible. Plant as many trees as and when possible. 4/15/2011

johnny corso PLEASE READ! Kevin Mathias has made a remarkably short, but extremely efficient and understandable write on global warming. I actually felt a deepening sadness (you know, ...the kind that stirs an emotion,...the kind that you really wish you could do something to make it better) as I read through it. It appears, to me, like all "living" things on this planet (except for those amazing creatures in the depths of the oceans, which have lived through several earth disasters) are facing "extinction". I have a question in regards to the melting glaciers. If the glaciers hypothetically survived, and the 80% deflection continued, would this consequently increase global warming? 2/18/2011
Netxisowteno Ok, alot of people believe that if glacial lakes... say on the artic or antarctic, were to suddenly drain into the oceans we would head into the next ice age right? At minimum it would be devistating. Both ecologically as well as economically because many costal cites would be underwater and what not.

I have a suggestion since every and all glacial lakes are made up of fresh water then one can assume that my plausible theroy... could be to refreeze these vast bodies of fresh water.
With as far as we have come over the past century modern science and technology should be able to accomplish such a feat I would think. If the great minds of the world worked together on such a simple solution, and that being freezing water.
I would also think that if all these vast bodies of fresh water were to be frozen it would act like a global warming neutralizer so to say.

At best it would buy us all more time to figure out a solution to global warming and would prevent all that fresh water from dumping into our oceans and delaying what many people think will happen if all that fresh water does drop into the oceans at once and that is another iceage.

I have recently started posting about the idea of refreezing the glacial lakes, soo far only on one site and one person lol'd my idea. But none the less no one person replied with a answer to why this very plausible idea could not be achieved.

I do understand that freezing glacial lakes to form a solid block of ice would be a daunting task but really is it soo inconcievable that it could not be done?

I am thinking it can be done! Yes it would take the co-operation of many nations and cost a tonne of money but at the end of the day neutralizing global warming and perhaps saving the human race from exitinction all together I would think is well worth whatever it would cost to achieve this.

It's water! at the end of the day! I mean really it just makes sense to try and prevent this water from dumping into our oceans. Feel free to e-mail and lets get the ball rolling because the glaciers are melting at a alarming rate.

I look forward to hearing back from you guys about the idea of refreezing the glacial lakes. Constructive critism is welcome, if I were rich I would already be implimenting a plan of action to make this happen sadly I am not, so best I can do is spam the forums and hope the right people agree with me on this and we get to work on saving our planet.

I understand that alot of data would need to be taken and went over to form a plan of action to accomplish such a feat but if the egyptians could build massive structures 2000 plus years ago without the means of technology and the heavy machinery we pocess today... then why is it not possible for us to freeze water on a massive scale?

I would like to call it Glacial Terraforming

CLIVE D'SOUZA THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING AND ITS EFFECT IS TO DELETE ''PLASTIC'' AND SUBSTITUTE IT WITH SOMETHING MORE ECO-FRIENDLY . 11/19/2010
vivek welly placed the information about the current topics on the environment issues,
really we have to focus on our environment. since it has become lately still we can reduce that problem.
such type of awareness should be spread among the people.

Horace Discredited by recent reports that say that it isn't climate change or global warming but lack of snow fall that has caused retreats of the glaciers. 2/27/2010
