John The article neglects the rich Syriac tradition of the Orthodox and Catholic Christians (in excess of 3 million, and possibly closer to 9 million) in Kerala, India. Both East and West Syriac are used in the liturgies there, and are taught in various institutions. 11/20/2007
dariusz iwanski Hi,
my name is Dariusz Iwanski. I am researching in the book of Enoch. I am dealing with the holy place in heaven - which is the temple of God. I would like to ask you one question in this regard: is the Aramaic word qadish the counterpart of the Hebrew qadosh?

thanks for your kindness

loking forward to hear from you

sincerely yours

Culduz One of my earliest Turkish friends, as I have lived in West Europe all my life, is of Aramaean origin. He does call himself Assyrian but also identifies with Aramaeans, as he proudly showed me a book entitled,' Les derniers Araméens : Le peuple oublié de Jésus' by Douchan Novalovik that is apparently so precious to me, he wouldn't let me touch it. He surrounds himself with Turkish people, Christians and Muslims alike, although I know there're Aramaeans who are racist against Turks, I think they shouldn't spoil Aramaean-Turkish relationship.
I hope Turkey can protect the survival of the Aramaean language, heritage and identity, but that she would do it as a fully independent country and as an autonomous national mission.
