Joshua Joseph This might be missing the point. I have pain specifically in my right lower back and above my right hip. It is internal and the pain is always correlated with bouts of acid reflux. This leads me to think it has to do with an internal organ connected to the stomach. I have seen one doctor but have not gotten a second opinion because I recently lost my health insurance as a graduate student. 6/28/2009
Carl McLean I am certain that there is a relationship between taking Proton Pump Inhibitors and lower back pain. I have found that most of these cause lower back pain except for Prilosec and Prilosec OTC. Even the generic equibalent of Prilosec omeprazole will cause this problem. 5/28/2008
Tim Patel I have deep pain very dull low grade most of the time sometimes more acute on the right side below my shoulder blade, could it be related tomy GERD? I have been scoped and do have significant GERD and am currently on 40mg of Nexium bid 3/10/2008
