Todd Laurence Is there any scientific evidence for intelligent design? The answer is......YES....!
The research group PEAR, Princeton University, School of Applied
Science, reviewed and emphatically verified details that prove
that an aspect of "mind" transcends space and time, i.e., precognition.
They also agreed with the conclusion that Kochab, an orange giant in Ursa Minor, (little dipper) went supernova, (exploded) in the past,
and the light of that explosion has yet to reach us.... The star Kochab
has a long history in mythology, with references

dating to 2,467 b.c.e.
It, and a companion star are known as the Guardians of the Pole.

Tom Peeler I would like to respond to only one of the many fallacies concerning ID that the author of this document makes.
The statement: "The theory of intelligent design says that life is so complex that it must have been designed by a higher intelligent being, and not evolved by natural selection…"
is an inaccurate characterization of ID. What ID says is that there are features of the universe and life that are BETTER EXPLAINED by intelligence than by random activity of whatever kind. ID is an inference based upon reason applied to evidence (biological information and language, for two major categories) rather than a philosophical presupposition that is assumed as fact before any evidence is examined. The odd thing about this is that regardless of ID's merits as "science," it is based upon the application of reason to evidence. Naturalism, the philosophical foundation upon which science rests, is not. And would we not agree that reason applied to empirical evidence is essentially what the scientific enterprise claims to be?
Here's a quick test. In our experience, there has never been (nor will there ever be) language or information apart from a mind. So I ask, how then to account for biological information and the biological language in which the entire book of life is written apart from a mind? If you, or anyone, can make a case for how an inanimate, purposeless universe governed solely by the laws of physics (where did they come from?) can create or manufacture or produce animate, purposeful creatures governed by a moral law then I'll put in with you. Good luck. In the meantime, I will let reason and the accumulated experience of all of human history hold sway over a philosophical position that does not even have the conceptual tools to begin to answer the question I posed.

infidel57 There is no such thing as the "Theory" of intelligent design. It is an untestable hypothesis at best. 6/3/2007
John Pieret Um, Stephen Jay Gould, in his book, "Rock of Ages," stated he was an agnostic, not a believer. 6/3/2007
