The point isnt that they cant handle it or cant play
Some can
The point is they shouldnt play, unless we want to teach girls and boys it is ok to get physical and knock each other around.
What's next ? Ultimate fighting? Lets let them play that against each other competitively, that's what our society is coming too and male on female violence is at an all time high becuase we have destroyed all barriers. |

and also when i played my first spring game the other team didnt even realize that i was a female until i took off my helmet. i play just as good or better then the boys. i love what i do, and how i am standing up for all the females that wanted to do it but weren't aloud to play. dont down size me for a second. |

well. i disagree with you. i play tackle football for my school team. im very agressive, and i am not a kicker, i play both sides of the line. o-gaurd and d-tackle. i love football. and flag jus wasn't enough. if someone ever tried to take that away from me. i would be devistated. |

When i was little i played tackel football and grew up with the guys i played with and NONE of them abuse people i think that you need to get over what ever issues you have and take a good look a round. Most schools that i know about want the girls to play. And i was also the only girl on the team and i never got disrespect f from any of the guys they thought it was cool. Now being a junior in high school i see how it works it helps people learn self discipline. |

AS A MOTHER WHO HAS AN 8 YR OLD DAUGHTER WHO PLAYS TACKLE FOOTBALL ON THE SAME TEAM AS HER TWIN BROTHER, I AM OFFENDED BY THIS. MY DAUGHTER IS ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS ON HER TEAM AND SHE NEVER GIVES UP. IF YOU REALLY THINK THAT BY LETTING GIRLS PLAY IT'S TEACHING BOYS THAT IT'S OK TO HURT GIRLS OFF THE FIELD THEN YOU HAVE SOME VERY SERIOUS ISSUES. HAVING THE BACK GROUND IN PSYCHOLOGY THAT I DO, I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT YOU GREW UP IN A HOUSEHOLD WHERE YOUR FATHER BEAT YOUR MOTHER WHICH IS WHY YOU CAN'T HANDLE SEEING GIRLS HIT ON THE FEILD. IN TODAY'S SOCIETY WE SHOULD BE TEACHING OUR CHILDREN NOT TO DISCRIMINATE BUT THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING, DISCRIMINATING BASED ON SEX. BOYS DO NOT LEARN TO BEAT ON AND HURT WOMEN BY PLAYING YOUTH FOOTBALL THAT SIR IS TAUGHT TO THEM AT HOME. BY ALLOWING THEM TO PLAY ON THE SAME TEAM YOU ARE TEACHING THEM THAT GIRLS ARE THEIR EQUALS AND TO RESPECT THEM NOT SEE THEM AS " LESS" THEN EQUAL BY SAYING THEY CAN'T PLAY. IT IS ALSO TEACHING THE GIRLS THAT BOYS ARE NOT "BETTER" OR "STRONGER" THEN THEM AND THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE BELITTLED BY THEM. YOU SIR ARE "BELITTLING" THE GIRLS AND THE BOYS BY SAYING THAT THEY AREN'T CAPABLE TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GAME AND WHAT IS RIGHT TO DO OUTSIDE OF THE GAME. YOU SIR SHOULD NOT BE A YOUTH FOOTBALL COACH BECAUSE YOU DO TEACH DISCRIMINATION. YOU SHOULD ALSO CONSIDER GETTING YOURSELF SOME COUNSELING TO DEAL WITH YOUR UNRESOLVED ISSUES. THE KIDS ON OUR TEAMS ARE VERY RESPECTFUL TO EACH OTHER AND EXCEPTING OF EACH OTHERS DIFFERENCE AND I THINK THOSE ARE TWO OF THE MOST IMPORTANT QUALITIES WE CAN TEACH OUR CHILDREN. My daughter plays youth football. She was fullback and cornerback on the championship team in the league. There were over 600 players in the league. Most did not even realize they were playing with a girl. You can't tell with the uniforms. She quickly earned the respect of the boys on the team and was probably one of the five hardest hitters in the league dispite bining one of the smaller players. I don't think it is for any girl, I would not let my younger daughter play. She does not have the right attitude and is not fierce enough to effectively compete with the boys. If a girl has the right attitude and is competitive, they should be allowed to play. Boys will learn to respect them. To think it makes boys feel ti is alright to beat up on girls is ignorant and does not give much credit to the boys playing football. If a boy is violent and will punch out any one on a playground, that is assault and when they become adults, they will end up in jail. If this guy thinks boys will grow up to assault women from competing with them in a sport, then he he either short changing his boys intellegence or they are bound for Jail! period. good competition is about haveing the best players playing regardless of race gender or religion. I think there is more of a fear that his players will get thier *#$es kicked if the competition were open to all the best players. I believe kids should compete at a level where they are competitive, boy or girl. I do not think there is any advantage for a tenative boy to get pummeled any more than a girl. I will say most girls do not have the right mental attitude or physical strength and speed to compete with the boys, but those who do have what it takes should be allowed to play. I think the ignorant lower class person is not the mother who wanted the sign her daugher up to play but the person who wrote this ariticle. He needs to think about teaching the kids in the football program how to be real men, not ignorant uneducated neanderthals. I would bet they kids in his league have more intellegence than he gives them credit for despite the lessons he is teaching. |
