Deanna Law I have a 14 year old beagle/border collie mix. She had problems with seeing but a couple of days ago we realized that she is completely blind in one eye. When she is not asleep, she is pacing the floor and runs into everything and turns circles. She is having balance problems. She is getting worse each day. Anna I don't know what to do. My Asian spitz/fox terrier mix, Zoey, has had violent vomiting for the past 48 hours. She wont eat or drink and seems very sluggish. Although, she still wags her tail when I walk into the room. I'm really scared she might have parvo, but someone told me they can't get it until they are 6 months and she is only 4 1/2... Her vet appt. is soon but I recently found some blood in her stool. Is there any way this is not as bad as I think it is? 10/1/2010

Pam Alnutt I had a german shepard mix that was 12-14tyrs old. I had been gone for a year and came home to visit for a week. Max was fine while I was there, eating(not as much as before, but he still ate, carried his toys around, barked as if he was talking, went outside like normal, etc. When I left, my son said that he ate for two days and then he wouldn't eat. He went and bought him soft food as we always fed our dogs dry food. He ate that OK. But the next day he wouldn't eat or go outside. The following day he wouldn't eat and he started urinating himself, he didn't even try to get up to go outside. My son took him to a vet and he had a temp of 104 and his gums were white and the vet suggested that he be put down mainly because of his age. Did I cause my dog to go into deep depression by leaving him for a year, coming home for a week then leaving again? Any idea of what else it could be? The back yard is partially fenced in, but he would only go to the neighbors if he did get loose. Thank you. 9/4/2010

Nick My Dog has had a runny stool for about a month now, he is approx. 1yr old. I put him on a fish and sweet potato food diet (blue chip) and still this problem continues. POLLY A. BEAN I am the owner of a miniature daschund. Duke is soon to be 12 in July. He was diagnosed about one year age with "cushions disease". He takes a medication once daily for that. Just before Christmas he was diagnosed with diabetes and is on a low dose insulin injection twice daily now. He has cataracts and on some days he appears to be completely blind. About 4-5 months ago he starting experiencing lots of problems with his bowels. He started experiencing bouts of diareah and there was bright red blood in the runny stools. His vet did x-rays and saw no masses. She did blood work and said it was all good. His heart rate is perfect! I don' t understand it! If this were a human they would have an explanation. Nobody will convince me that he does not have something serious going on. Help! Any suggestions?
Oh...and he now is taking 4-different meds for his bowel episodes!

kristin are dog who is about 11yrs old he's a golden lab mix , we will let him out to go to the bathroom and sometimes the minute we let him in he will start going #2 , and he has trouble climbing stairs he's been known to fall coming or going down them, he fell in our kitchen and went down, i've seen him in the kitchen and he will turn around and run his head right into a cuboard or the counter top, and he paces alot more then he used to 9/5/2008

Rosalind Our sixteen year old cocker spaniel has become disoriented of late while in the backyard. Three evenings ago she began walking in a wide circle, disoriented and stumbling. Yesterday and then again today she did it, only earlier when it was still quite light out and the circles became smaller and smaller, in an almost spinning motion and today was crying out. In each case she has stopped when we lead her out of it and bring her on the porch on in the house. She also seems to be more and more reluctant to come inside the house, which is unusual for her. 5/4/2008
