| bareras | I have had folliculitis and prescribed treatments were unsuccessful. I tried antibiotics, ointments creams and various home remedies with out any significant improvement. I was so happy to have cured this I needed to post this! Out desperation and several months of the irritating bumps I tried Selsun Blue (Medicated). This treatment was a bit aggressive but I was desperate for a cure. I basically spread a pretty thick layer of the shampoo on the affected area after showering in the morning and left it on all day then showered and washed it off at night and applied a triple antibiotic overnight. I did this for two days until it became almost unbearable. On the third day the area was very red and irritated but the bumps were almost gone. I continued to use a antibiotic on the area for a week or so and the area began to scab over. It was a little scary but it eventually came off in pretty large pieces and beneath was clear skin, no bumps and no scars. I had been so frustrated that I told my wife I was willing to burn these bumps off and ultimately I suppose I did! I would be careful trying this but it does work. The area is totally clear and there hasnt been any sign of a reoccurence... |
