I like these hobbies, and some submit excellent ideas..but I dislike that the "feminine" hobbies were mainly frivolous silly ideas and the "masculine" ones were intellectual or hands-on. Perhaps there should've been a "unisex" category to fit in. IE/Sample:
Fem: knitting
Unisex: movies
Male: Cars

Wow! So women are interested in makeup, modeling, babies, and sewing and men do active things and use their brains to read? So sexist and demeaning. Women are more than pretty to look at - maybe you should think about that when you make these lists. |
10/14/2009 |
| Mary Walsh |
That was a very sexist list. Accoding to you, women can't be interested in anything that requires them to think. Woman play sports, read and travel. We don't just sit around knitting. What century are your from? |

Yes because women can never read, drive, use a computer, or take pictures. Men never model, are always obsessed with sports, and love cars.
You can also say Indian people hobbies include making curry, riding taxis, owning convenience stores, and having a dozen kids. and black people love eating fried chicken, drinking grape soda, being gangsta, and listening to rap or hip-hop ONLY.
If you couldn't tell, i was being sarcastic. Your stereotypes based on not only sex but also age are appalling. like, W T F? |

it is lame wanted 2 put something worse but i couldn't because this is so bad that you can't even express your opinions on it. |

Your division of hobbies between men and women is horrbly offensive. So only men like to read and play sports? Women are just into cooking, makeup and child care? Dieting? Really? |

Kind of sexist... Im a girl and I don't like ANY of the women hobbies. Natural remedies and jewels? Pffft! In fact I like a lot of the men hobbies like computers, sports, travelling, reading, and chess. How can you say these are men hobbies esp. reading? |

I must say that I do not at all appreciate you thinking it is okay to classify these hobbies by male and female, putting women in a completely domestic sphere, and men in the realm of active or technical activities. these generalizations are outdated and unfair, rather hobbies should simply be listed and people able to find their own preferences rather than being told what is suited for them based upon gender. |

I enjoy reading, being out doors, mechanical work, restoring antique tractors, cuddling on cold or nasty days, have coffee on the porch in the morning while reading the papers. Parades, tractor pulls (antique, of course), junk stores, auctions... |

Probably one of the most badly written articles i have ever had the displeasure to read. Basically sexist and judgmental, replete with many syntax and grammar errors... and this individual is a teacher? Great... |
