| Dr Muhammad Akr | What natural therapies can help? Zinc and vitamin A and vitamin C are important for proper functioning of the immune system. Bioflavonoids – deficiency is linked to lowered immunity. B group vitamins help our body to handle stress. Stress can affect the immune system and cause recurrent infections. Albizza lebbeck and scutellari baicalensis are often used by naturopaths for allergic conditions such as hay fever. Andrographis paniculate, garlic and echinacea relieve the symptoms and decrease the duration of cold and flu and other mild upper respiratory tract infections. Olive leaf – based on unpublished reports from people taking olive leaf, it reduces the duration and symptoms of cold and flu. This may be due to the oleuropein content. Horseradish was traditionally used as an expectorant for pulmonary (lung) infections and eaten throughout the day and at meals to get rid of a persistent cough following influenza. Horseradish was known to help eliminate infections and was prescribed for cold conditions. Astragalus helps treat recurring colds and protect against the onset of the common cold. Increases white blood cells. Not recommended during an acute infection. Elderberry or elderflower reduces mucus associated with the common and influenza. Liquorice has been traditionally used as an expectorant and anti-inflammatory in many res |

| Ron | Sinusitis Treatment Sinusitis tends to be a very annoying and recurrent affection. Advances in traditional natural therapies have made it possible to not only to relieve the symptoms of sinusitis, but also to balance immune responses of the individual to ensure long-lasting relief. Biogetica - The therapies have natural anti- inflammatory properties, which help reduce congestion in the sinus cavity. Mucus collected in the sinus cavities is liquefied and drained out adequately. The immune system is geared up to tackle any kind of bacterial or viral infection which could lead to Sinusitis. |

| steve | If you want a simple way to terminate a sinus infection, I found some stuff that kills fungus and bacteria that you really ought to try. The antibiotics don't kill the fungus and you need to kill both. This stuff does. You just spray it in your nose and WOW, it got rid of my nasty sinus infection in about a week. I had tried antibiotics that were specifically prescribed for my sinusitis and I also tried a neti pot (yuk) but just couldn’t get this sinus infection to quit. So I did a search and found this stuff (Sinus Relief) from Nature’s Rite. The only problem is that you have to spray it every 30 minutes. I thought, hey, what the heck, it’s worth a try and every 30 minutes isn’t too bad. I was really surprised how well it worked so I bought their sinus support too. It’s been a good moisturizer with calendula and aloe. It’s herbal ya know. I like herbal stuff. So anyway, you should try this for your sinusitis. It won’t make you have a yeast infection after-words like some antibiotics do. | 1/10/2010 |

| F.A. Bushey | I had Sinusitius from 1985 and am getting some relief from it in the past couple of months. i am using a prescription nasal spray.the matter that comes into my Kleenex tissue looks like cartilage.it is like a part of the infection that was or still in middle sinus on that right side. I did have eye movement all this time this was going on. I had catartarcts replaced during that time also. movements included pictures on the wall shower doors to a certain degree. a smail tumor was found in the medulla section of the head. (non working). I am an atomic veteran, having been exposed to heavy wind blown radioactive dust in advance toward the mushroom cloud "badger" produced. what i am worried about in this case is the material coming out of that area is like a pigs ear material. I have at least 10 service connected diseases that are connected in one way or another from this test in aApril of 1953. Tintituis also both ears with hearing loss also | 1/6/2010 |

| Jeanine Kastner | FYI...I suffered for sixteen years with severe sinusitus, and kept getting told it was "allergies," but I kept saying, "No. I had been in Kansas a year, as well as grew up in Colorado without ANY allergies! One day, in the spring in 1993, in Kansas, my air conditioning went on in my apartment building where they hadn't cleaned the filter. The next morning I came down with horrible bronchitus, and within a week or two, my nose would not stop swelling. I kept getting told I had to have surgery due to ALLERGIES!" Finally, in 2000, I had the surgery, supposedly, for a "deviated septum" that I didn't even know I had, as well as to 'trim the lower turbonates." All the surgery did was make it so I could breathe during the day, but my nose would swell shut at night - and NONE of the remedies of steroid sprays or Allegra-D worked. In order to be able to get up in the morning for work, I just had to use a combination of steaming my nose and Vicks Nasal Spray - and, of course, the doctors flew in my face that I caused my problem, originally, with Vicks Nasal Spray. I was so mad! On top of it all, every day after the surgery, for months I would cough of phlegm, and be told that was "all allergies!" By this point I had an actual deviated septum that a second surgeon, by taking a "catscan in sections," agreed to fix, but I still had a "bump" on my nose that wasn't there before, and he gave me Bactriban ointment so I only coughed up teaspoons of this phlegm - but still no relief from the swelling of my nose at night. Then, FINALLY!, after three years of ridiculous allergy shots and taking Sudafed every day that was raising my blood pressure, I found Dr. Song-Ping Lee of Topeka. He performed surgery whereby he reamed out the sinuses going into the ears - as there was pressure there - and he "trimmed" the lower turbinates that the first doctor was supposed to have done. He, also, told me that the sinuses below my eyes were, completely, clogged, and he had to open them. He said, "Ninety percent of your problem was not allergies." RELIEF! I haven't used a drop of Vicks Nasal Spray since the surgery! - AND I DON'T HAVE SO-CALLED ALLERGIES! | 11/29/2009 |

| Emily | Google must be crazy to put this first in their search terms. The information here is limited and minimal and most of it isn't even about sinus infections, it's more about what *could* happen. On a 1-10 scale (10 being best), I give this a 4. | 7/6/2009 |

| Sally Ann | Good info. It helped me to understand my situation and to not feel guilty that I thought I should have a fever to have an infection even though I had the tell-tell green and yellow mucus. Allergies or maybe just being in an incredibly old dust may be the cause for me. Thank You! |
