| emaginesol | Elderly individuals who are shut-ins due to illness or health reasons are also more likely to suffer from depression. Geriatric depression is also common among patients who are hospitalized for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, geriatric depression has also become a common occurrence in individuals who live in nursing homes. | 1/24/2012 |

| FAM | What is the name for the fear of being close to someone, as in, standing, sitting laying and so on, I'm finding myself going stiff whenever I'm within four to seven feet of someone. Also, what is the name for the fear of humans, I've started displaying all the signs of fear around others whom I do not know and sometimes people I DO know, but then I spin this on it's head, constantly needing to be in contact with my friends, rubbing against them, patting their backs and needing their closeness. But again, I feel stressed when I'm near them, needing the contact but at the same time hating every minute of it, I guess I'm just mad or something. Lastly, is there such a thing as being scared of being to low to the ground? I'm not so much scared as it feels like something is sitting on my chest the closer I am to the ground, forcing me to find ways to get closer to the ceiling, far from the floor. |

| FAM | Is there a disorder that makes one think everything is fake? If so, I wish to hear about it, I can't be the only one who sees everything this way, believing everything to be a lie. If anyone could give me an answer I'd be most greatful. With love, FAM (Forget About Me) (P.S. I couldn't place a link so I may never reappear on this site again, I think getting rid of the no links rule would be very helpful, but I'm only taking note of such things, that's all.) |

| A Daughter | To all those who are suffering, its okay, your not alone. There is also many sources of help available. My mother was diagnosed Bipolar 1 when I was 7 years old. It can be a very stressful at times, but other times are great. To those who were recently diagnosed, please keep in mind it takes an average of 7 years to get the right medications. It's all trial and error unfortunately. Also be careful of the drugs you may take, they may do the mind just fine, but can cause the body harm after prolonged use as was the case with my aunt, also diagnosed Bipolar 1. It seems to be genetic, at least in my family. Please hang in there and do research, it helps. | 5/28/2010 |

| Sidney | to marie: You may possibly have an anxiety disorder and or a personality disorder. You may have seperation anxiety disorder which makes you usually not want to go to school, and you have fits at school. And you may have the anti-social personality disorder. Which makes it hard to interact with other people. This is just something similar based on what I read on your comment. You may want to look it up or suggest it to a doctor or therapist. |

When he does do something bad like being mean to his cats he just doesn't care. His biological father was like that, he would do bad things and not have any feelings on what he did. I know there is a word for it but I just can't think of it. It's not bipolar but I think it starts with a b. Thanks | 5/28/2009 |

Just get out of the wrong thinking that you are in. There are two differnt forces wanting to control your life God and Satan. If you do not know God then Satan is in control, no question, and his main goal is to seek kill and destroy you and mental illness if it is used wrongly, satan will surly win. DOnt Let him. | dianne | hi, i have a sister aged 53, and i am v ery concerned about her. From as long as i can remember, she has been mentally slow, and my parentstreated her with cotton gloves. Like me, she has an essential tremour, but hers is getting very servere. She has gained a lot of weight,in fact she is now120kg and is 5ft1. She has a low iq and has had a formal test for this. I can't seem to get any information about her health as she does'nt understand what the doctor is telling her. She has severe neck pain, back and knee pain, so therefore all she does is watch t.v. Her husband has a slightly higher iq and does everything for her. Including giving her medication. wich he often gets mixed up! Ilove my sistr and i wan't to help her help herself .what can i do? |

| A psychologist | This article contains grossly inaccurate information. There are a lot of things, but examples -- antisocial PD is a failure to conform to social norms and a lack of conscience, NOT a tendency to avoid others. In face, those with APD are often very charming because they enjoy manipulating people. Likewise, Obsessive compulsive personality disorder is about perfectionism -- there are no rituals or compulsions. I hate to do this to someone's article, but my jaw hit the keyboard when I saw this. | 8/16/2007 |
