this is all anti kurdish propoganda- i had a guess the author was turkish and then when i looked into his biography i was right, clear bs, the kurdish people or more united as a people than the vast majority of other nations such as Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, etc. all the criticisms he make of their lack of unity can be applied to almost any modern nation state, furthermore, he states that they have no single writing system for their language, well this author is either extraordinarily ignorant or meliciously misleading - ofcoarse there isnt a single writing systems, as most theorists of nationalism and nation states know the proliferation of writing systems amongst people is a product of modernization and state building - 2 aspects that are void in Kurdish history due to their lack of a modern nation state, tajikistan has had 3 different writing systems in past 80 years, India currently has numerous writing systems for its numerous dialects and languages. furthermore, he catagorizes zazaki as a kurdish language - which it is not, this man is a blatant bigot and fool, now i am not one for a national homeland for the kurds, i outright disagree with its merits - the Kurds are an iranian people with an iranian culture and heritage - what makes iran so cosmopolitan is its diversity - balochis, luris, persians, kurds, azeris, gilakis, etc the kurds should stick with their brotherin in Iran, Iran is not a nation jsut for the farsis (persians) but a country for all iranians, and just to add insult to injury mr. mega, all the kurdish land in turkey should be in the hands of iran, its an iranian homeland in which the kurds (an iranian people) have inhabited longer than the invading turks |

In my young openion I think he has some valid reasons and ideas that would need further investigations. As it been said in english lnguage (be care full for what you wish for) . The need for a home land I think is in the heart of every kurd. And to get that point we need to have a long and deep understanding of our history and back ground. As it been said (if you do not kow where you come from, how do you know where you going). On the other hand, the issue of diversity is not the main and most important issue here. As we have seen many countries in the world are now multy cultural , multy ethnic, and multy langural; the issue here is to have the right leader ship and correct understanding of who we are and what is our rights, and the rights'of ourchildren because they are the future. |

The "idiot" can be easily returned to an old unsuccessful clerical worker who is calling himself professor although he is not and he cannot answer to simple questions.
I have seen somewhere the title: "Megalommatis the agonist"
This reminded me the "Mein Kampf".
Hitler and Megalommatis: Same ideas, same propaganda. |

Dear Culduz,
Thank you for your comments!
I would not oppose the independence of Kurdistan in the future, but the correct conditions must be met first.
Above all, there must not be a tyranny of some Kurds over other "Kurds"! In such a case, it would be ridiculous, a replacement of oppressor.
The closest to meet conditions of Independence is the Iranian Kurdistan; there are not many Kurds in Tehran - comparatively with Istanbul, this is one point.
The second point is that only in some parts of the Iranian Kurdistan there are other minorities, Azeris, Aramaeans, Turks, Persians.
The problem still exists with the variety of languages among the so-called Kurds of Iran; all we need is to preserve these languages, the treasure of these literatures and cultures.
It would be criminal if in the name of 'independence' of Kurdistan, 'Kurdish' (or not) languages are led to extinction.
And there must not be colonial control; 'Kurds' do not need to become slaves of the Western masters whose secretive goals they don't imagine.
I believe it is in the best interest of Turkey to provide guidance and respect, education and leadership to all the peoples that collectively are called Kurds.
The nationalist era has ended and Turkey needs to be transformed to an exemplary Western multicultural state able to annex parts of Iraq and Iran that face either terrorism (in the case of the former) or terrible oppression (in the case of the latter).
Not only the various Kurds, but also the Aramaeans, the Armenians, the Azeris, the Yezidis, the Bahais, the Ahl-e Haq deserve great commitment and support.
What is to be first avoided is the hatred unleashed by some small parties' leadership that is all due to criminal Western money. |

Bilind Kurdista,
For your mail and observations - that are pertinent - I wrote and just published:
Independence for Scots and Oromo Ethiopians Yes, for Kurds No; Why?
Every position of any responsible and righteous person must be based on philosophical principles.
Every case is not the same, and the conflicting parameters should make a person very cautious when considering options.
We cannot replace the imposition of Turkish over Zaza with the tyranny of Kurmandja over Zaza; the world must go ahead!

We should get away from the naivety, mindless nationalism and the subordination to West-European colonial interests in the East. Prof. Dr. sir M.S.Megalommatis proposes a Kurdistan as well as a Turkmenia, Aram and Shia land within a post-colonial Mesopotamian confederation, and national punishment for Sunnis in camps, as well as action by the Turkish government to include the preservation of cultural and linguistic diversity as a national policy. I believe this is the only genuine and global solution for Turkey and Mesopotamia, integrated in the wider context, of a return to peace, justice and civilization in a truly post-colonial Middle East. Thanks! (Please read the articles following this one: 'What future for the Kurds' & 'The Only Peaceful 'Iraq' is a confederation named Aram Nahrin - Mesopotamia') |
