| Ty Ward | The reticulated python is indeed the longest snake in the world. I have a reticulated python as a pet. If you have one of these snakes, you must provide good care and be very careful of how you handle it. These snakes can get to 20ft. easily. If your thinking about getting a snake and are unexperienced with handling them, you should start off with a more smaller and docile snake such as the ball python, they are very calm snakes and get to 6 to 8 ft max. If you want larger snakes such as boa constricters, burmese pythons, and (reticulated pythons) I sugest that you be an experienced snake handler. | 6/15/2010 |

I WILL MAKE THIS VERY CLEAR EVERYONE IF LENGTHS OF 33 FEET ARE SO ACCURATE THEN WERE ARE THE REMAINS OF THESE SPECIMENS ARE THEY IN MUSEUMS OR ARE JUST THINGS YOU READ IN BOOKS THAT YOU THINK IS TRUE JUST BECUASE YOU READ IT IN A BOOK!? | 2/18/2010 |

| furryscaly | -There are more than 3 Old World pythons. -There is no confirmed report of a 34 ft snake, anywhere. -The 3rd subspecies is P. reticulatus reticulatus. -All snakes do not lay eggs. Many give live birth. -Their nature does not restrict them from attacking humans. -They are only for those experienced, and with room for a 25 ft snake. -They can and do kill people, though rarely eat adult humans. -Always keep hard liquor on hand to pour down its throat if it attacks. |

| Snakeman239 | In the starements made on the information/home page the Author makes comment to and I quote "like all snakes the female lays eggs" surely this little part of a some one comprehensive authorisation is correct apart from like all snakes, as the author may or may not be aware of the fact that Boa Constrictors give birth to live young. | 4/29/2009 |

| Dan H | for all who heard about the "indonesian giant retic of 48 feet" the snake was measured at 21 feet 4 and 1 quarter of an inch. As of now Fluffy at the columbus zoo is the worlds LONGEST snake she is just over 22 feet meaning the 30 foot snake is still a myth |

| Steven Tyler | Your post is bull. Retics first of all do not hacth out at 2 feet in length. Also all morphs that have proven to be morphs were caught in the wild. Another big mistake you have made is that the subspecies differ between islands and locations. No retic from two different spots can be categorized the same. Also the only morph that is not proven in the wild is luesistics which could easily be proven wild if the two retics used were not located on two seperate islands. As a long time breeder I suggest you do research on snakes before you make another posting. |

| Clay Hesser | In no wildlife show that I have watched, has anyone been able to find one of these 'giant' pythons. 20' yes - but 30? Is there any reliable record of someone measuring a Python over 25'? | 9/16/2008 |
| William | It is great! | 8/29/2008 |
| NICKS MOM | MY SONS TEACHER WAS TALKING ABOUT THE RETICULATED SNAKE TODAY DURING CLASS, I THOUGHT SHE WAS SHOOTING THEM A LINE, SO I THOUGHT I WOULD CHECK OUT THE WEB SIGHT MYSELF. | 8/27/2008 |
| LAVI | I WANT TO KNOW THAT WHEN YOU SAY THAST THIS IS THE WORLD'S LONGEST SNAKE, IS IT BIGGER AND LONGER THAT THE ANACONDA | 5/30/2008 |
| John | An Indonesian reticulated python that was recently captured is 48' 8" and almost 990 pounds. And by the way try proof reading. |
5/4/2008 |
| Raphael | Some extreme size captive reitculated pythons are known as 'fois gras' snakes, owing their record size to careful feeding programs. This normally involves the keeper eviscerating feed rats and stuffing the body cavity with a mixture of mushrooms and fat after which the cavity is sewed up again before feeding. The feed ratio varies among keepers but is a somewhat common although little publicized practice in hopes of creating 'record specimen' for profit. |

| Robert | Correction to the author's remarks in the "breeding" section on reticulated pythons. "All snakes" do NOT lay eggs, BOAS (including anacondas) give birth to live young! | 6/29/2007 |
