Newt As A Pet
Newt is an amazing creature, able to regenerate their little legs, eyes, spinal cords, hearts, intestines and jaws just like lizards grow back their tails. A cute little pat, the newt is easy to upkeep, as you only have to feed him every three days.

I have had two pet newts but one has just recently died. It escaped from its cage some-how while I was on vacation so my family was the ones who were looking for it. About a day later they found it all dried out on the carpet. So now I only have one left and ever since the other one died he's been quite sad. They were best friends and the store I got them from doesn't sell them anymore. But the problem is that he won't eat anything, I've looked up so much info on them and I've tried feeeding him bloodworms, pellets, and shrimp but he's refused it except once he ate a peice of cut shrimp but thats all he's had since I got him and I've had him for a while. Plus I'm not sure if he's a boy or girl and its spring time where I am so any guidence or help or suggestions you can give please do! I'm a major animal lover and I love him so I need to find some help! |

I got interested in newts not to long ago. It all started at school where my 4-h teacher told us about the life cycle, and she brought in vairrious objects and displays but she also brought in live newts and tadpoles. she asorted them so each of our table got one animal and after a cople of minutes the 4 -h teacher gave my desk partner and i a newt. i soon as i started holding it i loved it and now i am getting one myself. WOW! |

my cat chased what i think is a newt into the house today, its tail is missing but aside from that its ok. ive put it in a large transparent box with cling film with holes in it oveer the top. ive put a dish with water a toilet roll tube and a slug in there, do you think it will be ok? |
