Hi; I want to let you that I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure; which I can not explain how I came to that situation. By searching in many medical publication I learned that sweeting is one of the reducing factor of Potassium in human body. And then an other article about diabetic and hypertension i read that if you lack of potassium in your bady you are exposed to high blood pressure. Now two days ago I started to use potassium as supplement in my diet. I feel all morning headach pain gone, all discomfort during the day is gone. All muscle pain; which I use to fill when I come back from the gymnasium is not there any more. That is on my second day of my potassium in take as supplement in my diet. What you say here is most true and I believed to it. |

Hi Nilesh, The article is very informative, an I have seen half of the symptoms you have listed down, matches the symptoms I experience daily. I wen to doctor for muscle weakness and it was found to be potassium defficiency and then I could relate other symptoms were also related to potassium deficiency after going thru your article. Thanks for the info.

Muscle crush injuries may precipitate hypokalemia. Mine went undiagnosed, nor treated, for two years. A single dose of 600mg reestablished stasys. In that time I could face not the least stress without severe reaction. I lost everything important to me. |

The information is useful, but there are far too many grammatical errors that undermine credibility. |

Thank you for putting this together. It is very enlightening. I am suffering from lymphoedema and I do take moduretics from time to time to keep the swelling on my legs down a little bit. I also suffer from hypertension and my concern is not to get my potassium low. You work has enlightened me about the risks entailed in cutting this mineral short in my body. Good job |

as recent as yesterday i discovered i have extremely low potassium. This of course has made me quite anxious as i was given results via telephone by gp.I was instructed to increase my intake of "slow k" which i have been taking for over a year in conjunction with several other medications prescribed by my ENT surgeon due to treating ...middle inner ear inbalance...am confused and uncertain what all this means and how severe it may be.if any one has a similar related situation and you do not mind responding it would be much appreciated as it may at least ease my current anxious state. cheers |

My mom was hospitalized with no ability to breath and she was said to have low potasium and low glocose and they said she had signs of a stroke but did not have one but if she went home she could have a heart attack she has, asthma, thyroid problems and a week before she was in the hospital and they let her go after giving her meds for the asthma they thought it was but I wonder becuase they wont tell me anything and I want to know what these symtoms could mean |

The above article is very clear and I now understand why there was concern amongst the medical profession over my very low potassium level that was treated and my medication changed. |

I am a school teacher in Barnum, Wyoming. I think that was a very interesting article. Maybe more description would do. Are there any other symptoms of hypokalemia? Do you think that there could be more to this article? I thought it was pretty good though. Just make sure this is correct. If you aren't sure on any information, be sure to check this with a proffesional. |
