Jacob Movies are cool to watch when they are scary or a horror movie! 2/25/2009
David Hostel was an awful film, it was dull, predictable and unbearably self indulgent (remember that skin crawling nod to Tarantino's Pulp Fiction that rivaled The Office for sheer cringe). Hostel was a series of unfortunate events depicting moments of extreme gore, it was gross but it certainly wasn't scary. At no point did I feel empathy for any of the characters or interest in what would happen to them. I hope that this new pathetic wave of Hostel's and Saws die out quickly so that they can make room for a genuinely gripping horror stories- rather than porn for sweaty palmed teenage boys 2/10/2009
Madhavi Interesting article.....am a big fan of horror myself....and have been since childhood...most of my pals freak out - but the things you mentioned towards the end of ur article are exactly what i am studying while watching the movie...the motivation of the character is extremely important for me... 4/24/2007
