And my comment about not being a vegan, or being one, whichever you choose.. was towards "ProudVegan". Eating meat doesn't make you evil, it's our instinct, it's natural for people to eat meat. And honestly, I love it, but you're right, slaughterhouses are disgusting. The way they treat animals is AWFUL. but not every person who eats meat is an awful person. you need to realize that it's not the general population that are cruel for eating meat, it's the people who run those facilities that are evil. the ones that pack 100 cows into a truck that can maybe fit 60 and half are dead by the time they get there. those people are evil. don't judge people by what they eat because it's in our blood to be carnivores. but do judge people who are okay with seeing these things happen, because that's what's messed up. I'm not trying to bash you at all, but you need to realize that you are being a little ignorant because you're basically saying that anyone who eats meat are bad. it's the people condoning the treatment of these animals who are bad. think about it. |

Honestly, being a vegan does not mean that you're better than anyone else when it comes to how you feel about animal cruelty. I'm strongly for the rights of animals, and I still eat meat. I know that animals are treated poorly with slaughterhouses, and I don't agree with that kind of treatment. BUT just me alone can't change that. Also, instead of just being against people who eat meat, because honestly I know eating meat is healthy for my body, and being a vegan you can be healthy too, but it's harder to find the necessary nutrients that meat does provide. Anyway, I wish I could change how they treat animals being slaughtered, it would make me feel better knowing that the animal I'm eating was at least humanely killed. It sounds rough, but life is rough, reality is rough. Also, I volunteer at my local humane society to be able to give the voice to those who don't have one. I'm strongly against cruelty, neglect, overpopulation due to the lack of spay/neutering animals and that's what I promote. We have clinics every two weeks so people can spay or neuter their animal so we don't have to deal with overpopulation at our shelter. Right now we have 160 cats (we are only made to fit 90 but we make the room) and 90 dogs. A lot of that is due to overpopulation and we've found that a lot of neglect of animals is due to the fact that people have too many and feel overwhelmed because they couldn't spay/neuter them. I am very proud to say we are a no-kill facility. We will NEVER kill any animal because we are overpopulated- we make room. Even if the cages are in every inch of our facility, it doesn't matter. And I'm very proud to say that because we care about those who can't defend themselves. So keep on protecting these innocent lives because you know what, a life is a life and nothing should be cut short because there's "too many". We need to control the population so those facilities that do euthanize animals won't anymore because they won't have to. And most of all, we need to stop cruelty and neglect to animals, because straight up, they don't deserve it AT ALL. Thanks! |

So I guess all these peaceful people are vegans, right? because if you are not then you are hypocritical. One of the cruelest things done to animals are factory farming and slaughterhouses and this happens because of people who eat the poisoned food(meat).
I do not like eating meat because I have seen lambs and pigs killed. I saw and felt their pain. They felt the approaching death. I could not bear it. I cried like a child. I ran up a hill and could not breathe. I felt that I was choking. I felt the death of the lamb.
So if you eat meat you are cruel.
I don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals. |
