Sagitarius	It's quite amazing that of all the mentioned killers on the list, the Zodiac is the one that elicited the most response from people here. Though one of the least prolific, it seams he still fascinates people the most. Perhaps it's because he is one of the few unknowns thus there's a mystery still attached to his case like Jack the Ripper's. I wonder if Arthur Leigh Allen is ever confirmed as the Zodiac it would change that status. I also wonder about wether Son of Sam was inspired by him, as a person claiming to be the Zodiac once called into a TV show and said his name was Sam? Their MOs were quite similar too. JustMe	First of all, Ed Gein was the inspiration for the Buffalo Bill character in "Silence of the Lambs". The Zodiac Killer was in Northern California, not North Carolina. Ted Bundy once said of the suspected number of his victims being 37, "add one digit to that, and you have it." However, 35 seems to be the accepted number of victims. And if we are speaking of Famous Serial Killers, what about Gary Ridgeway? He killed over 42 women and got away with it for almost 20 years. I would say that is pretty significant enough to get him on the list, don't you think? I think this is a good start for a list of famous serial killers (except for the obvious mistakes), however, it needs to be expanded and corrected immensely!	7/10/2010

chip davis	savannah you have no concept of what charles manson did, he was covicted for the crime of accesory to first degree murder. 7 counts. he was sentenced to death in 1971,but in 1974 the united states supreme court overturned all death penelties in the country, therefore his sentenece was comuted to life in prison. agaust 9, 1969 manson had tex watson and three girls kill sharon tate and freinds, the next night manson personally supervised the killings of mr. and mrs. labianca. although, he was never convicted, he was linked to 28 other homicides in the los angeles. ed gains was only convicted of 1 homicide and desecration of the dead, he made his lamp shades out of human skin. the jury found him not guilty by reason of mental defect. he died in a mental institution in 1971 or so.ed gains was the inspuration for leatherface in the "texas chainsaw massacre" and not the inspuration for hanibal lector or buffalo bill. you people need to look at actual case studies and not fictional detective novels which is obviously what most of you read. if anybody has any questions or concerns about any serial killers in history, dont hesitate to write in the room just direct it to me . i dont mind at all.	10/24/2009

timothy	in the late 60's, in new york, i think there was a political person, accused of killing his girl friend. i think his name was ''ira'' left the u.s.a., and was found years later, and brought back to the u.s.a., in a different country. there also was a movie about it, i saw, where they thought she was killed, and moved out of the apartment building in a big wooden box. my wife and i were wondering the name of the killer, what country he was caught in, and the name of the movie made about this, if you know, and or have any info, please pass it on,, ok,, thanks,,	9/29/2009

Matt Berry	It kills me. People classifies a person as a serial murderer, if they committed only 2. While this is not true, it takes at least 3 murders, over a period of time with a cool off period in between. This differs from spree and mass because spree killers kill 3 people within a short period of time and mass kills 3 people in one single event. Statistically, males kill with more violent means (shooting, stabbing, so forth) while females generally use poison. Another difference between males/females is their motives- females generally kill for profit while the motive of the male killer differs.	6/24/2009

Aileen Wournos wasn't executed until 2002, the Zodiac killer killed in San Fransico, Ca. in the late 1960s, and Ted Bundy did not escape only 17 hours after capture. He got out on bail where he was convicted of kidnapping then he escaped. Then he escaped again after being charged with murder in Utah on Dec. 30, 1977 when he then went to Fl and committed the sorority murders. Chris Biery	the reason that we have not found out more info about jack the reaper is that there was no finger prints on the bodies plus he always struck at night and the vicktums were usually out by themselves and they were alone in an area known for its killers. Plus if we did find out more who would care I know I would but he is dead and it really doesnt matter .
