Jennifer I am from Canada, and I have never heard of a birthday child being ambushed and having butter or margerine spread on their nose #2. I have lived in both Ontario and British Columbia, and have been a daycare worker, as well as a mother of 4. I wonder how common that Canadian tradition could be. 3/2/2009
