300 Reasons To Get Mad

Parsis (Zoroastrians) – in India and abroad - are up in arms over the unflattering portrayal of ancient Persians in the recently released movie ‘300’. The cause of all this brouhaha is a B-grade action flick, whose only selling point is bloody gore and mindless violence.

Abhi Nice work Firoz - obviously the other commenters didn't actually READ YOUR ARTICLE. 3/22/2007
Firoze H Have some of you guys even read the article through? I have clearly stated that too much fuss is being made over a tasteless depiction of violence (my knickers are definitely not in a wad). As for the Iranians (I'm from India, btw), you cannot even begin to understand, because there is such a staggering deviation in mindset and folks from the Middle East. 3/22/2007
Jeff Get a life and stop being so reactionary. When did people get so stupid!!
And the B grade action flick that you talk of firoze...is propably going to end up as one of the best implementations of new age cinema to ever come out of the west.
I think the movie going public can decide for itself if your opinion matters or not.
My bet is that it wont...and that people will see the movie for what it is...a directors portrayal of the Battle of Thermopylae and not some bid to portray you and your community in a bad light.
Get over yourself . You arent that important. (No one is)

EVERYONE.... GO WATCH THE MOVIE !!! Its awesome.

onemansop I am wondering what you mean by slavery? In your world view, does telling a free people they have to chose between death or occupation not testamont to supporting slavery? It sure seems like that is what the Persian god-king was offering. 3/20/2007
Mike It was a fun movie to watch. I guess you were expecting a documentary. No need to get your panties in a bunch over a movie. 3/20/2007
peterz Get over yourselves. 300 is a novel. Entertainment. Nothing more. 3/20/2007
John G. I don't feel the movie actually portrays the persians in the proper light as they were an advanced civilization. However, Herodotus estimated the army at 1.7 million not 120000. 3/20/2007
