Carlos I thoroughly enjoyed reading this post, very well written : ] 2/2/2012
Pseudonym Great article, Tim! When i first got into WoW, i thought i would become a no-lifer with no respect for others in the real world, and the game world. After i played for about 2 weeks, (a total of about 4 hours), i realized that the people who did spend their lives playing this game actually encouraged me NOT to play it as much, as i didn't want to end up like them. Im perfectly happy with my lvl 34 human mage after about a year of playing. As for the article, i couldn't have said it better myself. 1/28/2012
Zindell One of the best posts ever :)
I'm with you!

Kevin I absolutely love this and agree with everything said..
I've been playing WoW for a little over a year and my highest character is 61 and I get messed with all the time by guildies and by players in general. They also tease me because I hate grouping. My 61 Orc Warrior was all soloing... just grinding and quests.. no raids.. no dungeons. I recently made a Worgen hunter and he's now 41.. looking forward to exploring more of the new Cataclysm world with him.

Safari Thanks for sharing your point of view. Really helps me to get a grip on reality and see what it is really about.
Thanks again.

Nina I really enjoyed your article. You made some great points and I have to say I completely agree with you. Some people take gaming way too seriously and forget that it's supposed to be fun. 9/4/2010
Youri B. Hi friend, few years later leave you a comment.

Reading you have been an amazing moment.
We've exactly the same point of view about WoW.
Glad some people like you enjoy (or enjoyed) spending some time in this world just for the pleasure of discovering new areas, landscapes, ... .
I don't have the words, but i think i could write a book expressing my feelings.

Bye!

Michael You said what I have been trying to tell my's elf since I started playing WoW and quit repeatedly out of frustration. It should be fun and there is nothing wrong with enjoying yourself and taking your sweet time. Hence I have started over totally new. No stress. No cares. Just fun and enjoyment :) Basicly reading your article made me feel good about the way I was trying to play and failed at do to pressure. Now I will achieve (Or not achieve) what I want. 5/19/2010

origamer Great article mate, You couldent have summed up my thoughts on WOW any better theres. a big difference between hyper-active kids and layed back adults. im GM for the Illuminati guild in surfang and im trying to create the embodiment of your article, anyone not wishing to be spoon fed is more than welcome just speak to me(Nipocrates) if you want to join a casual, casual social guild! 10/28/2009
Lance Great article. I quit WOW. Guild leader was obsessed and couldn't tell what reality and fantasy was. Actually quite sad. Swearing at me left and right cause I don't know the instance. NOt letting me into 25 Naxx because I'm not geared (I am easily btw) even though we clear it in 2.5 hours. I am 100% casual. I hate drama and being hardcore into it. If I go back it will be on a quiet server and on a very chill guild. Well said! 5/5/2009
Jordan I'm doing a research paper on behavioral addiction involving the influence of MMOs, specifically WoW as it seems to be the most popular, and I was recommened some articles here, including yours. I can't agree more with your comments about the amount of obsession and lack of enjoyment that WoW seems to be having on the populace. I emphasize the lacking part because games are now, according to research, giving an effect similar to that of a drug addiction - certainly doing drugs can be fun too, I guess, but drugs are by no means enjoyable when you end up neglecting yourself and your friends or just wind up dead. 3/24/2009
D loved the article. i agree with you about the escapism. just walking around in game is just awesome. i find myself logging on for a bit just to walk around. 3/2/2009
Mark F. I sometimes just log onto either of my level 70 toons, go to Westfall or Loch Modan, listen to the music and enjoy the scenery. It is so very relaxing. 10/28/2008
Donal Tim kicks ass... preach it lad. Too many gamers online these days who don't actually enjoy the game anymore. Arenas, and new welfare epics promoting "Bot Programs" in Battlegrounds etc. didn't exactly help. People aren't even playing anymore, they're "botting" and buying their rewards :S 6/17/2008
Rohen I honestly think that that is the best way to play a game like WoW, I have a lvl 19 Mage and quite honestly could care less about being the strongest, best geared character of all times, lol. Who cares? It's just a game! So let's enjoy it! Take an afternoon off, drink some coffee while completing a quest or two, then log off and put that brain into something productive and life lasting, like reading!!! - Just my thoughts here... 4/21/2008
lucy welcome to egoldgo doc com, we sell cheap wow gold. 4/11/2008
pierre dman I am not alone then 3/14/2008
MasterX Really great article!! Thatīs the way i think about World of Warcraft and video games in general. We dont need to spend an entire life to see the beauty of WOW. We can see it from the very start when we login. I have a paladin level 32, my only char, and have been playing wow for months lol. I can say i play 10 hours a week in average. So i dont dedicate much time to WOW as you can see. And yeah i read the story of the quests and apreciate deeply the landscapes, the excellent music and fantasy ambience that WOW creates. In the few hours im logged in, i live it like a dream, like reading a book, like a parallel life. I even have friends there lol.
I really love the stories of Azeroth, and thats why i even read the Warcraft books. World of Warcraft fills my deep inner passion of fantasy worlds I have since childhood. But thats it. I only play it a few hours a week because i have responsabilities and a real life to live.

I can say WOW for me is like a meditation time, a zen time lol but no more than that.

Once again, really good article.
