Stella First of all cauliflower is the correct spelling, not 'collie-flower'.

Second, to catch your hamster, set up a five gallon bucket with food in the bottom and a ramp up to the top of the bucket. The hamster will drop into the bucket and not be able to get out. Make sure you either put in some water or check it a few times before you go to bed. The hamster should be in the bucket very shortly after he/she wakes up.

Third, make sure you NEVER give your hamster any paper such as Kleenex, tissue paper, toilet paper or paper towels. There is bleach in the paper and the type of the paper will get stuck in the hamster's pouches causing infection and a very painful death.

Fourth, NEVER set your hamster free. Put him/her in a hamster ball with a little piece of tape to insure that the door does not open. There are too many things that can kill a hamster if set free in a room. If a hamster bites down on a wire, it could mean electrocution and a horrible death.

Lastly, NEVER give you hamster a bath. Hamsters do NOT take water baths. They clean themselves and do a very good job of grooming. If you provide your hamster a potty and keep it clean every other day, your hamster will most often use it and not a section of the cage. Keeping a clean cage helps prolong the life of your hamster.		 11/15/2010

HamsterLover x Good advise, except for the fact that you should never put a water dish in a hamsters cage, instead use a bottle because they can tip over the dish onto the bedding and it will start to mould and they can get a cold if they bathe in it. But yeah you get the point :) 3/20/2010

You should try giving mixed diet to your pet. Vegetables and fruits are just right and good too! Along with it, there are many food mixes available in market, which hamsters eat happily. Regarding choco drop ... if your pet hamster likes them, then you can continue only in small quantity, 2-3 a day and please be watchful if in case choco drop creates problem to your pet's digestion.
