Alleyne, C I have read and am very interested in receiving more information in the future. My son was just diagnosed with walking pneumonia and had to go the emergency room. He was given antibiotics intravenously and follow up with pills. The pain is still there, but not as severe, so I told him to follow up with primary care doctor. 12/14/2011

Donna McCoy Thank you, very informative. My Doctor and the Pharmacist both told me that Walking Pneumonia was NOT contagious, so I have now been around a lot of people, now a least 5 people have it. I am not a happy camper, maybe my Doctor and Pharmacy should read the Internet. 4/26/2011

helet Kerr. i do not have any noticeable cough but I have pain in my joints and muscles. I have lost my appetite, chest pains which is not really consistent. I am lethargic, I do not have any energy. dorothy i went to the dr. nearly 2 weeks, ago, he sent me for blood work and achest x-ray and ecg. he phoned for me to come in, i had pneumonia. i've never had a cold at all through winter but i would get out of breath and feeling played out. today i went back to the dr. and had another chest x-ray and he said it's all gone. i still am short of breath and i worry about a tumor in my lung, my young sister died from lung cancer, she was just 47 years old. should i be concerned and should i get a second opion. my chest feels heavy with a warm feeling. 5/10/2010

Julie A. Faith I was just diagnosed w/ walking pneumonia. It DOES make you bedridden, & in some cases,(mine) feel like poop. June I had "walking pneumonia" & it was very serious. The drugs used in treating me were - Dextrose, Ceftriaxone, AzithroMycin, aspirin, Tylenol, Albuterol, Morphine, Ondansetron, Fluticasone, & others. When I entered the ER I was in extreme pain. I was in the hospital four days. I was very weak when I left & developed an erractic heartbeat. I don't know how long I was walking around with this. I still have not fully recovered. Yet, technically, the doctors classified my illness as walking pneumonia. 1/29/2010

Theodore I had swine flu in november 1 2009 and lasted for 7 days in a result from swine flu I got a cough and it has'nt gone away. I have weasing and rattling when I exhale. Its now jan 3rd 2010 and its getting worse my cough. I have no insurance and thats why I hav'nt been seen by a doctor yet. Not sure what to do. I am a smoker so I thought smoking is why I am coughing. Recently I got a cold and I have had a minor sore throat that comes and goes. At nite the coughing wakes me up. Sara I have walking pneumonia and I have had it work a almost a week before I went to the doctor. I am IgG deficient so I live on antibiotics so I actually started them before I was sick! My doctor says I am not contagious but may have to extend my length of antibiotics (instead of ten days on and ten days off) go 15 days on. I was given steriods, a strong cough syrup, and have to do two steriod breathing treatments a day until my coughing gets better and use my asthma rescue inhaler. For two and half days i stayed on my couch but managed to work. It's hard but definitely go to the doctor if you think you have it! And the annoying running nose is no joke. You can blow but it just randomly like floods out! So keep tissues, also plenty of fluids. I was getting dehydrated more easily with being sick so been keeping gatorade on me, it does help. 12/24/2009

I was told I had walking pneumonia, when i asked what that was the only reply I was given is that I was not bedridden. it wasnt until I looked it up on this website that i understood the symptoms better and now know why I feel the way I do with all the symptoms 10/20/2009

Sheri I have a student who continuously is clearing his throat and occasionally has small cough for 3 weeks. He has been to the doctor and was told he had walking pneumonia. lisa didnt the doctors give him these pink pills, or some type of medication. because i had bad pneumonia and i aws in the hospital
and they gave some pink pills and i felt good i had no more pneumonia in my lungs
