I really enjoyed reading your article and the amount of suggestion you have provided herein. And totally agree with you in all.
Studying at your own pace is a very difficult task. Not only you have to make assumptions of the material you are reading; you will still have some struggles that you will have to tackle down. Regarless of your intellectual ability you will still struggle no matter what. Even when tutoring is being provided. Why do I say this? because for there to be a unity of understanding of the minds; the other mind must understand it in its own terms first. I am a recently graduated of a Online School. And man, I tell ya, it was not easy because every time I wanted to start with my material at my own pace something always come up. Like your friends and Family. But I had do somethin about it. That I had to put signs on my bedroom door literally "DO NOT DISTURB" I had turn everyting off. My cell, radio, tv and any other distraction that could interfere with my studies. And that was not easy. So, I totally agree with you on this one. You have to commit--- that's it. The thing here is that If you love something dearly and you want it so BAD; trust me you will stick to it and you will do it. You have to stick to it no matter what and that's it. People say that if you go online, you'll become inept (just like you say) that's not true. It's all up to you. Nothing is going to change the way you are. Your DNA has establish that for you. Being an online student gives you the flexibility to know how you understand, and absorb the material that it was given to you. Why do I say this? because think about it. When you are in a class room and the teacher is giving the lecture right; do you think you have understood everything; I mean everything he or she has said? Statistics says that the human brain can only absorb 5% of the material being thaught. The rest of it-- goes out of the window. The thing here is that you need to tailor your studying habits and to know which is the best method of learning. LIke for example, some people learn by listening. Others learn by visual. And the others learn by doing it. So the question is-- Which one of these is you? If you get to answer these questions first; then you are in the right path. The key to being a successful Online student is nothing but to have desire to get it done. If you have the desire and the determination that you can do it; that is all you need. No one said that in this life everything was going to be easy. Every person has its own characteristics as to how each individual learns new materials. While other may dissagree with this theory; I still hold this firmly. But let's use for example Einstein. People used to say that he was a very slow at learning. Why do you think this was the reason? think about it. Well in my opinion, I believe the reason he was very slow; it was because he use to think things through and analyzed every single step and not jump into conclusions without knowing the PERFECT answer. And that my friend, is what being an Online student is all about. Thinking things throughly at your own pace. You can stop, review, go back, think, rest, come back when ever you like. And if it still doesnt make any sense to you; what you do-- YOU READ IT AT ALOUD! and plus being online helps you to be a better writer. Not saying that I am a better writer but my writing has improve alot. Going back to accreditation. THIS IS HUGE and MUST BE A MUST for you to conduct your own investigation about the school you are even thinking about enrolling and making sure that the school you are interested in; is FULLY ACCREDITED by the Department Of Education in your state and approved by them. Keep in mind that the Department of Education is the one who governs all other entities. The school you want to attend MUST disclose that are accredited and approve by the Department of Education of your state. Anyways, I started to write this at 12:52 pm not in the afternoon at night (CT) and now is 1:33pm. and I am getting tire. Words of encouragements. Being an Online student is easy for those who strongly desire to do it and the one's who got the right attitude. My advice is that if you want to go the Online route make a plan and stick to it. that is it. |

i am really intersted but i want to make sure that my diploma will be legitimate the cost of the fee wouldn't be to expensive i would really like to start now because i'm attending whitney m young job corp center in simpsonville kentucky and my only struggle is with math and i would like to have help with that. |

I think getting you high school diploma online would be great, if you think its whats best for you. or it might be an only option, like if you have dropped out and are looking for a way to get some education. so it would totally depend on the person. |
