Marie Allergies were definitely the cause of my arthritis - joint inflammation cause by an auto-immune response to salicylates in fruit and vegetables (red apples, sugar bannans, almonds, broccoli and night shade plants to name a few). Rebecca I recently found out the hard way that annatto can also cause arthritic symptoms. Annatto is also known as achiote. It's used as a natural food color (yellow, red) and is a spice in yucatan and other cuisines. 7/9/2009
