Helen i agree wilth sue about the alcoholics situation on how to maintain their money so that they will not comsue it all on drinking and not have any means of shelter. I just can't understand why someone would chose to continue drinking even after they are diagnosed with chrriosos that to me is very sad. 6/5/2009
Helen I agree that not to many individuals are willing to get treatment for their alcoholic problems and at the same time I blame the judicial system because when a person tries to section someone for a problem with alcohol they are not helpful and the alcoholic ends up being free to continue to endanger their lfe and persons around them. 6/5/2009
Kamogelo Komane Those who are addicted in alcohol can miss their opportunities of making differences in nations. Some are affected mentallly which is clear indication of bad future consequences.Alcohol has very negative impacts that we do already know about. They lead their lives nowhere because they put their lives limited, which means they cannot play expected role in the future. 5/18/2009
thomas komane the people that get too much alcohol decrease the percentage of their lives.your bones can be affected by alcohol where you ccan end up in disable conditions.People that are drunk create their own lives that is why they do unussual things.Their mind change to a certain states called high abnormic,is where they hallucinate. 5/18/2009
jeannie You have an incorrect statement above. "As alcohol enhances ADH secretion, more urine is formed". ADH, antidiuretic hormone, acts to decrease urine formation. If its action were enhanced, as you state, even less urine would be formed rather than more. 4/27/2009

Sean Alcoholics (or anyone) should be given the option to purchase food stamps while submitting their money to a holding place at the local police department. That way, people can only buy essentials, but no alcohol. Afterall, how many people are just willing to go to rehab? Not many. How many can just quit? Not many. This is the way to help alcoholics survive in this world. 8/16/2008

a I drank liquor and beer heavily for 9 years. The pain started 5 years ago. I went to an annonymous doctors office here in sarasota to get the damage report. The old man doctor was the only one in my area that my insurance covered. He took blood, told me that nothing was wrong. At the time I was cold chills, stomache pain, chest pain, black fecal matter. According to this doctor, the students at the ER and a different middle class doctors office, I was fine. Point Im making here is the symptoms of pain got worse the doctors visits were more frequent and still, nothing wrong. Finally I spoke to a nurse on line and she said that the main bad sign to look for is black fecal matter. The black color is the lining of your stomach.
WHY COULDN'T THE DOCTORS TELL ME THAT?
I make 8-9 bucks an hour at every job that I work. You can't lie about your rate of pay at your last job because that is the only thing the employer looks into. 8-9 bucks an hour is barely enough to live on when you have to pay your own rent and you get 150 dollars back on your taxes every year. I work 2 jobs and look foreward to a drink when I get home and seeing some friends.

a ok, first off...I live in sarasota florida. The reason that I mention that is because you need to understand that this is a rich retirement community that is being fought over pollitically by the rich and the upper middle class. There are two hospitals here. The main hospital and ER where there is one doctor (MD) who is on call 90 percent of the time and the rest of the staff are students and nurses. The other hospital is called the "doctors hospital" and it is located in the richest part of this rich city. At the doctors hospital they do not accept medical insurance AND they do not treat you unless you pay first. 7/9/2008

Luvuyo mjodo we agree with you especially when SAB sells older alcohol in the townships, knowing that people in the townships are uneducated and they will just drink any beer available to them without differeciating the difference between the old and the new beer available to them. This is an irresponsible and selfish behaviour which based on criminal procedure to conduct business which is unacceptable among poor uneducated people. This needs futher investigation by the health department, police and tthe people especially in the shebeens in the townships where they sell this kinds of alcohol to be conducted futher to stop this organisation that victimise poor people from the townships. They may cover it in the anticipation to gain profit by selling their old alcohol, but we from the townships and we know how to make alcohol, we can tell the difference between the older and the newer alcohol just by looking at it without tasting it. we understands the physiological problems of it that's why we have so much liver problems or TB so this has to stop without having causing any problems among the community and why in they sell in the townships exactly. If you can't do it we will do it. Thanx written by Bachelors of Science and Bachelor of medicine student from the townships. 11/21/2007
