All The Secrets Of The American Red Nose Pitbull!

American red nose pitbulls are one of the most popular breeds of dogs in the United States of America. They are also probably the most controversial breeds as well due to the fact they have a track record of aggressive behavior, however you can’t always judge a book by its cover.

monica k to john with the puppy was beat it is just like a child that is afraid feels alone and doesnt trust any one its gonna be a long slow road the best thing to do is always for one b very patient you have to earn her trust all over again love and affection goes along way with this breed and so does treats to get her to come to you and not withdraw herself from you use treats and call her and then when she does come give her a treat and a little pet and slowly she develop a trust to come to you knowing that your not goin to beat her hope this works and plz keep me updated on her im a very big pit lover and as of now we have the two males as of right now and were looking for a female to rescue 11/30/2009
monica k I think that just like a person judges another person they should get to know that person and i believe as well it should be the same for a breed of dog i own two male pitbulls and in this day in age i would leave my children with my dogs before some adult ppl. 11/30/2009
Kirsty Hi I'm needing some answers please - my mother inlaw has a Red nose pit - I have twin daughters (5) that have grown up with this pup since she was 6weeks old - ever since she went on heat she began attacking their other little female dog (staffie/fox terrior) - it's become so bad that they cannot be near each other anymore - she has been nothing but lap dog to my children, she lies on them, chases them when they ride their bikes but has never shown aggression to them but it worries me so much that she might turn on them. She was sterilised 3 weeks ago. 10/29/2009
kiwi strawberry i have a three year old dog and a two week old dog and me honstly i think that they are great dogs and that they are very easily trained you just have to take the time out and show them the love and affection that they need and they will do the same in return. 10/9/2009
Ross m this article is exactly right ive owned many red and black nose pitbulls and they can be aggressive if trained, but if treated like family they are the most loyal dog anyone could find, i love them 8/1/2009
Kimberly I agree with this article completely, they are not the king of animals some people claim them to be. I love my fremale red-nose pit, she is as sweet as a baby. 6/21/2009
Reggie in GA. My APBT is 4 months old. We also have an 8yr ld pom. The APBT is a female and my pom is a nuetered male. Does anyone have any advise on how to keep the APBT from picking on the pom? 5/23/2009
Reggie in GA. Joshua, thank you for clearing this up for me and my wife. My wife was raised with APBT, that had been breed for the wrong reasons. We have a 4 month old APBT that is being raised the right way and she is wonderful! Thank you again. 5/23/2009

Katie American red nose pit bull is not a breed. It is a coat colour, no more fantastic than a blue pit bull or a black pit bull; they are all pit bulls. The temperament of the pit bull is nothing extraordinary, either; all pit bulls are loving and gentle, regardless of colour. All pit bulls come from molosser-type dogs. The reason red nose pit bulls are of interest to scum like dog-fighters is because they will believe anything they read; RF Stratton mentions the red nose in his book This Is The American Pit Bull Terrier, and he says himself that the red nose is no more a fighting athlete than its black or brindle brother. I agree with you that pit bulls are loyal companions. I agree that they are kind and social dogs. I don't agree that they only become aggressive when they feel their owner is being threatened. My dog - who is brown-brindle and came from rescue - has little "blips" where he forgets things and becomes frightened; this is why he wears a muzzle out-of-doors, because all people see if a brindle pit bull who's acting-up; they don't see he's scared into aggression by a car which makes a loud noise; they don't see he's half-wild with fear because of some screaming children with thumping hands and ignorant ears. 1/30/2009
BJ i agree with you i have a red nose pit and she is the smartest dog i have ever had and shes the sweetest i am a single mother and i know that she will do whatever it takes to protect our family 10/22/2008

ADEEL I HAVE got a pitbull and Ilike them so much 8/31/2008
Smith this is bs...my baby girl is 2 years and 4 months, I have never treated her poorly - she is so people sweet, yet savagely dog aggressive over food, water, or another dog who tries to be dominant. Keep a sharp eye on the behavior of your red nose dogs. My girl recently snapped and attacked a Great dane that weighed 180 pounds (more than twice her weight, not to mention displacement), after they had been playing earlier and she had been rolling over and submitting to the older larger dog. BE CAREFUL! I was in no danger, nor was there anything to be seen in the moments before she snapped that would have predicted her actions. 8/12/2008
laura i have a 6 month old red nose pitbul and alot of ppl. fear her although she has been very kind and laid back to everyone. but i think that it is the way you train a dog that makes them who they are. so i would say i agree with the article. :) 8/2/2008

dogman Jinn Man,look this is dogman jinn learn knowledge first before you write stuff like that. They(rednose) came from Ireland and Great Britain man! 5/20/2008
MJ I have to agree with how you teach and train your Red nose is the ultimate outcome. I have a 2 yr old Male (nuetured) he is the most loving and obient dog. He will do anything for my husband and I. I also feel they are like children you can never stop loving and teaching them how to behave and act. I love our red nose and he loves us also. We also have a 13 yr old Poddle/terrier, he looks after him like a mother hen. He wont go outside until he finds him and makes him go out side together. If something happens to either one of these dogs I think they will be lost, they are best of friends. 5/10/2008

melissa I think this is very much true. I recently found a female red nose pit who is very friendly and cowardly to me but when it comes to my other dogs, she wants to kill them. I put a muzzle on her and still she attacks. Thanks for the advice 5/6/2008

lon capehart We have an american rednose / blue stafford mix and he is as playful as a lab and doesn't know a stranger until one opens my door unwelcomed! We love him and he seems to love us as well. Thanks for the articel and enjoy your pup. 2/11/2008
anthony your right it all comes down to how you raise them and treat them. any dog can be raised to be a kller,it's just that the red nose pit has more of the abillity to do real damage if it is trained that way. i personally have two american red nose pitbulls and they are the most gentle animals you would ever meet. my four month old neice is there best friend they sit together and my oldest one piston, is always cheaking on her to make sure she is ok. it's funny sometimes he gets to her to find out whats wrong before any body in the house.basically what i'm saying is if you raise your rednose pit the way you are supose to you will have one of the most loyal, gentle, and well behaved dogs you could ever asked for.

dana thank you we have a 6 week old red nose and a small dog and 3 kids we love are new baby pittbull 1/4/2008
Stephanie - Ms I have one american terrier pit, 1/2 lab and 1/2 red, red nose pit, and a red, red nose pit puppy. I have raised them for over 10 yrs. They are very loyal, and obedient. They are no different than any other dog you teach to be aggressive. They just have stronger jaws. You teach them to love, they will love. You teach them to fight, they will fight. If your pit is mean, you must have made the dog that way. 12/26/2007
desi they are ther for u when u need them to protect u from things. 12/10/2007
ismail I have a Red Nose Pitbull and his name is Kane, he is 2 years old and i have had him since he was a small 8 week old puppy. He loves me and my family very much, and is highly protective over us. He is very good and playful with children and loves them to bites, and ever since i bought him he was very nice, polite, and sweet with everyone around him expect other dogs.[ha ha ha ha] As Kane grew up older i tought him to be even more nice would made him a very happy dog. If anyone threatned me,scared me, hurt me, or even made me angry Kane would suprisingly attack them and would be very alert when im with him, thats becuse he's looking out for me incase someone does any harm to me, he's got my back

11/27/2007
kane you are very very very right i agree 10/25/2007
leslie i thinnk that this is a great otical and that it should be posted on the news paper because its all true every single but and i think that you are a great writter you must ave grown up with a red nose poitbulll dog 10/23/2007
DZIAK i think that you are one hundred percent correct... all dogs can be trained as attack dogs german sheperds, rottweilers, mastiffs etc but i geuss the pitbull is capable of inflicting the most damage due to the biting power and tenascious instinct they posess. Its as you say they will be how you teach them

Jacqueline W. I have a 2 year old red nose pit bull white with the brown patch around the left eye. He looks like the little rascals dog and he is a very loyal and smart and friendly dog. He loves children, and other animals, and has never become aggressive to anything or anyone. He does not bark unless he thinks someone is coming to the door who should not. Pits get a bad rep, but he is the sweetest dog I know his name is Saint Nickolas, a.k.a. Nick a Christmas gift well worth it. 9/26/2007
g. bags i agree 1 100% about every thing you said. 9/19/2007
Barb Thank You so much for reinforcing what I have been saying for so long! My hubby hated Pits because of the myths! I recently got a Red Nose Female, 3 months old, and after 1 evening with her, and a few hours research on the web... he has seen the light of how great the breed can be!!!! TY again! 9/15/2007
