Andrew This is incorrect and unsupported. I'm a smoker and nicotine causes damage to the arteries and can lead to heart disease. Nicotine is not safe and non-toxic. It is toxic enough to cause death especially when concentrated into a product like the water drink your advertising. I cannot believe someone would make such incorrect claims in an article 3/6/2009
sue first of all, nicotine is highly addictive ... nicotine itself may not be the direct cause of death of smokers, but addiction to nicotine is certainly one of the main factors that keeps people smoking .. obviously there are many other factors in smoking that play a role in people continuing to smoke even if they want to stop, but physical addiction to the chemical nicotine can not be denied as one of the causes for many people

secondly ...
really? nicotine in it's pure form is non-toxic? ... nicotine in it's pure form is actually one of the most toxic substances known to man ... 40-60mg of pure nicotine is enough to kill someone
just because something is found naturally in foods we commonly eat, does not mean it's not toxic ... the seeds of apples, peaches, apricots, etc all contain a toxic form of cyanide ... potatoes that have sprouted or are green have a high concentration of the alkaloid solanine which is quite toxic ... caffeine, found naturally in several foods, is toxic ... the toxins in apples, potatoes, and coffee don't tend to kill people because we don't usually consume enough of those things in one go to harm ourselves ... however, to say that natural things can't be toxic is just ignorant or a disturbing attempt to sell a product by lying

Daina well Sacha Tarkoysky, you're wrong. Your article was somewhat factual until the line "There is in fact no evidence whatsoever that smoking cause's cancer or death." ....... I have some news for you, There is tonnes information and evidence about the adverse effects of smoking. Why don't you look it up? Because clearly you don't know anything about tobacco, or you have been paid by a tobacco company to say the things you have. nicotine is a drug. That is the bottom line. When smoking, it only takes 8 seconds of the nicotine to reach the brain where it starts to change your body. To start, It restricts your arteries and veins, making heart attacks and TIA more likely. I'm no doctor, but I know enough to say that nicotine should NEVER be used to treat patients with depression. Some studies by Health Canada have even shown that smoking, chew/spit tobacco, and snus have been documented to cause chornic depression. So next time you are going to write an acticle that innocent veiwers are going to read, make sure you're not harming them with false facts, and false statements. 8/28/2007
TONY Agree with last comment tried the water and its good, first comment about nicotine being harmful is just an opinion that has no basis in fact 1/7/2007
I do care I've been drinking the water for the past two years and have found it to be helpful, from upset stomache to stress, to helping me through my day when Id otherwise be all fidgety. And, I don't drink it everyday, so obviously the amount of nicotine in this product is so low that it's not addictive. 12/4/2006
Sacha Tarkovsky thank you for your comment. In its natural state it is non toxic and contained in everyday foods such as potaoes, chilli's tomatoes, bell peppers, cauliflower, eggplant, chili peppers and some teas. it is therfore non toxic ..we are not talking about it combined with other toxins which are the problem ..medically it is proven in organic form to be save and is not toxic to humans 12/3/2006
like you care Though it is true that nicotine is not the cancer causing agent in tobacco, nicotine is indeed toxic. In the tobacco plant, it functions as a pesticide, killing insects by destroying their nervous systems. It does have harmful effects in humans. 11/26/2006
