Geltu I think the west has to make a carefull move towards the situation in Africa. Most political realtions are superficial. Most help extended to Africa are getting questioned as the people started to feel something coming behind it. Even the humanitarian assiatances are thought to have some hidden issues. The midlle east situation is already burned out. And the west must be careful on Africa before everything burns out.
A new movement and approach must be sought. Event the progressive issues like human rights, Democracy and, the environment are facing resistance by Africans. Attachment of conditions on funding, Loans, and assistances are clearly showing that the west wants only its ideology to be implemented. The west is also known to side countries and rebel groups based on power and startegy than listening the hearts of the people living in the countries.
The west is know to braindrain than give back affordable technology. The educated part of the African population comes to the west seeking better life but contributes nothing compared to what it has otherwise done there driven by necessity. Respecting freedom of movement is good but a small infrastructural investment could have kept the population stable in its own set up.

One positive thing about the west is diversity. The west will remain powerfull as long as it is utilizing its diverse constituence unlike that of China. China can't penetrate into the politics and societies of Africa easily. They will be strangers for sometime as it does not have diversity which can be utilized to mobilize human and natural resources from the indegineous Africa. It takes a while for china to penetrate into the political arena of africa. Unless the politics of that tribes , nationalities or individual countries of Africa are used, it would be hard to manupilate them in theirway. The only fast opportunity for china to utilize to penetrate into African politics and societies is the already created gap between the west and Africa as a result of the aforementioned sited problems.		 11/5/2006
