Julie Thompson Dear Ashutosh,

I am so sorry that I have offended you. This article was not meant to criticise India. It is an account of a woman, Heather Campbell, whom I interviewed about her experiences in India. India is a beautiful country, as I stated in my first paragraph. There is no doubt that every country in the world has poverty, and particularly child poverty, but this should not be a reason to accept it, and not do anything to try and stop it. Heather went to India because of her love for the country, and rather than simply visiting all the tourist spots and exploiting the local people, she chose to give back to the community, and worked with the locals to help make disabled children and their parents' lives better, in a program developed by the Indian government. I think that this is very admirable, and I think that it is unfair to say that what she did was 'trying to wipe others' tears'. India is most certainly a place worth living, and we need to help India to help it's people, so it's children are not suffering from starvation and disease.

Yours sincerely,
Julie Thompson

Ashutosh Jaiswa Julie, you have made this article sound as if India is not a place worth living. not only that, you sound as if India should not even exist. Can you tell me one country on this earth where there is absolutely no body who is poor, who has a deprived life and is not educated?? just name one country whre no single soul is exploited? I think your people in India were able to take you around the worst places in India and forgot that there are many other places more mystical, beautiful and even healing in india. There are places where just the air will take you in a diff world. You either did not visit those places or did not want to mention them in your article as you wanted to sound like mother teresa the second, trying to wipe other;s tears. Even mother teresa never preached like you have in your biased article. I hope you are reading this feedback. Lastly, I dont think you deserve to visit India. If I see you in India, I will ensure to have you deported. 10/8/2006
