Mark Simple carbohydrates are those carbohydrates that can be converted into glucose immediately after it is digested. These carbohydrates usually contain three types of sugars: fructose, sucrose, and lactose. Meanwhile, Complex carbohydrates are those carbohydrates that stay down longer in the system and have a gradual pace in being converted into glucose. For diabetics and for those people who want to lose weight, eating more complex carbohydrates that simple carbohydrates are a better deal; however, this does not mean that simple carbohydrates should be avoided altogether.
