Chantix Chant-Do Not Smoke

One of the most important needs of the pharmaceutical industry is to design or develop a drug that would cure or considerably cut down nicotine craving. In other words, they need to develop a drug that would cure the problem of smoking. The FDA says smoking is the most preventable cause of death in America. Not only is it the cause of a long list of cancers, but it is also the cause of heart and lung diseases.

Rita PS - Forgot to mention that I think a side effect I have had from the drugs is pretty bad flatulence, though I think that may be abating somewhat. But I can't tell you how happy I am not to have that horrible cough, and I wake up in the morning without a heavy chest. I've also discovered the wonderful world of tea! 8/22/2008
Rita Please, everyone wanting to give up - as well as the Champix, give Allan Carr's "How to Stop Smoking Permanently" book a go. I've found that after 30 years of heavy smoking, the combination of the two has seemed to work. My head space is in the right place from the book, and the drugs have helped the physical side. 8/22/2008
M. Edwards I teach tobacco cessation classes and have done so for several years. People are hoping that Chantix is the magic bullet but it isn't. It causes many gastro-intestional problems and other side effects-including psychological problems and sometimes thoughts of suicide. It's failure rate is about that as Zyban, but costs about 4 times as much (Zyban "Welburtrin" is now available generically and very cheap). I don't recommend the gum at all because IT is very addictive and many people have problems getting off of it.
The best way is and always will be to just STOP-like me and the majority of people who quit for good. If you have the confidence to quit, you will. If you don't, you will continue to look for a magic pill that will "make you quit". There just ain't no such animal (excuse the grammer)!		 12/28/2007
Todd Great drug. I have been smoke free for several weeks - this from a 3-pack-a-day person. The only thing is... I've been farting several times an hour every day for the past 3 weeks or so.. 3/28/2007

Ron Faulkner sorry for the spelling mistake I have not smoked since the 4th day of using tis product. I am 50 years old and been smoking since age 13. this is like any other quit smoking product you have to have the "WANT TO" to quit. I have a 4 year old grandaughter that has Cystic Fibrosis and she can not be around smokers and I can not do without being around her. don't need much more "WANT TO" than that. This product works I have used the patches and gum and Zyban this one works!! 9/16/2006

Sheli I have been using Chantix for about 3 weeks now. I am still smoking, but I only smoke a few cigarettes a day now and I used to smoke over a pack. Chantix makes the cigarettes taste awful, so I usually have only a few tokes off of it before I put it out. I really, really want to quit this nasty habit and am hoping that this drug will be the answer for me. I am so tired of being looked down on, or put down because I cant quit. I am an extremely high strung person and have been known to have an addictive personality. I am hoping that after awnile I will no longer have that urge to light up! 9/8/2006
