i feel children are in foster care should not be exposed to any type of violence what so ever. i have 3 grandchildren in foster care and they were getting ready to be adopted. what happens the foster mother had 2 domestic violences filed on her against her husband and her own daughter. in the mean time she goes to court and the charges are acquitted because of the witnesses which is her husband and daughter. i tried to find out where were my grandchildren and i am told that they are not allowed to release any information on them. just that they are ok. i find out they are still in the same home. its like the domestic violences never happened. its like everything and everybody is in hiding. i want my grandchildren and i am been told that i have to take foster classes & adoption classes. then if they are put back in the system i would be like anyone else trying to adopt them. i thought they were in safe place. i dont feel like that any more. i knew the foster family and trusted them. when the domestic violence happened and read the police report, i dont know them like they really were. i want my grandchildren safe. they are not safe in that home. |

I'm just wondering what the heck were the Caroll's thinking?!?! It's bad enough to leave him the playpen for a two days, but no food or water? It must have been intentional. |

I think that what happend to Marcus Fesel was horrible and David and Liz Carroll should be sentenced to life in prision if are proven guilty. How could someone do such a thing to a 3 yr old boy. It is unbelieveable. It is the sadest thing I have ever heard. God Bless Marcus Fesel. |

I am furious at these foster parents. I am trying to become a foster parent through Hamilton County and they rather give kids to people like that than to give them to people that will do the right thing by these children. My husband has a criminal record but what he did had nothing to do with a child. Why won't they take a chance with good people instead of putting a child with someone they know nothing about. I say if they had made them get a psychological evaluation these people would have never been foster parents. They made us get a physcological evaluation and we got a good recommendation so why can't we be foster parents. |

This is a pure case of abuse in every sense of the word. These two people do not deserve to have any precious life intrusted to them and it boggles be that they did. They took this little boy who was innocent and took away any chances of him having any kind of life. They took him from his mother, and now he is dead. What's wrong with this picture, don't they investigate more into the backgrounds of parents before placement...??Lifeway For Youth should NOT be the only persons who are being investigated and charged with neglect, harm and what have you. If you are a good case worker you go deep into the backgrounds of these so called foster parent's to make sure that they are who they say they are and that they can be trusted with a child. If they visited this child and was refused at the door because the foster mom claimed he was sick, I simply would have let her know that she can either produce the child in front of me or that I would call the police. It is their job to protect these children, if you can't protect them then who will?? These two should never have the chance to ever be set free into the world where they can harm an innocent child again. Not only did they kill this little boy, they tied him up on several occasions, locked him in a closet while they left town for a reunion and then burned his body on several occasions as well. Life is too precious, it really makes me sad as a mother and a parent to see this happen. I hope they all get what they deserve. If someone was doing their job correctly this little boy might have had a second chance. They need to rot in prison... |

I live in the neighborhood where the Carrols lived and unfortunately killed poor Marcus. One can't imagine the grief and anger everyone immediately around the house feel. Many including myself wish we could have done something to save him from the monstrous cruelty that he suffered. No one knew the extent that he was abused until the news revealed it. There were, however, observations that neighbors recalled about how the Carrol's hardly watched their children when they played outside and the numbers of strangers that walked in and out of their house. In retrospect, one should be unafraid to report any observation to authorities if he feels that there is some abuse or neglect of any human being in his neighborhood. |
