I was feeling contemplative and decided to share some thoughts I had on the college image.

Olivia Hattan Thanks to movies and Web sites such as CollegeHumor (which, I will admit, I get a good chuckle out of every now and then), students who do put effort and time into their studies are forgotten in the college life stereotypes. As long as there are kegs, Greek life geared toward social interaction, and bars within one mile of college campuses, college will always get the tarnished reputation for students to let their inhibitions go and have one too many hangovers. Hopefully, people who do exhibit those behaviors on a regular basis are doing what they do safely. I think a lot has to do with students throwing responsibility out of the window, and once they get out, they're in big trouble.

Fortunately, for those like you and I, we know when to study and when to have fun. And we do it with responsibility and integrity. Students who truly care about their educations and reputations seem to be in the minority at colleges, or so it seems. Just keep cracking those books and pulling all-nighters and our reward will come one day.

Terry McCahill Sarah,
I graduated from college over 20 years ago. I feel like the college experience left me woefully unprepared for the real world. Things like how do you rent an apartment, establish credit, budget....I could go on and on about the issues I (we all?) learn on our own.
I'm not trying to simply promote my site and concept because it is still in the honing stage. There is sooo much to learn about the basics of life! My site is CollegeHomeInvesting dot com which touchs on the concept of Real Life Lessons...Real Education.
I apologize if I've rambled!
