Don't you think you should update your info so there isn't even more confusion. The state of Californa is now issuing a certification that allows a massage therapist to practise state wide. |

How do I check to find out if a therapist is really licensed, or if the license on the wall is a fake. Is there a state or national registry with names and cities of CMTs? |

Yes, effective Sept 2009, there is a state certification for CA. This certification will allow Massage Therapists and Practitioners to practice in any city or county in CA without having to obtain local licensure. 500 hours is required to be certified as a massage therapist. 250 hours is required to be certified as a massage practitioner. |

Thank you for explaining this to me. Im much appreciated. I wonder what it takes for a person who was certified by an individual who originated a massage technique from another state and the therapist who wants to move to CA and work as a bodyworker there? Does that bodyworker need the certification from a school in CA still? Or are there other alternatives for obtaining that right to do bodywork in CA? Thank you very much. |

Where do I find the licensing requirements for an individual who is licensed and highly experienced and skilled to change their license from another state to CA for relocation purposes. |
