Private boot camps in Florida for the children of wealthy parents who want them to attend 'character-building' courses were under scrutiny at the weekend after a 13-year-old boy collapsed and died.

Patrick J. Manz My son attends this school and from what my son tells me most of your statements are correct. However because friday was hot the cadets spent most of the day going over the new student hand book in the shade. They went to the beach in the evning to run relay races after it cooled down. I belive the temp. to be around 82 deg fer. I was one of the first parrent to go to the North Miami police station and see the kids. They were unaware that their classmate had passed and were in good spirits. Patrick J. Manz 8/17/2006
