Emily I agree! I have three of the ones you mentioned (g.pulchra, g. aureostriata, and a. chalcodes) and they are all three very sweet but g. pulchras ARE very fragile unlike some other species. I've heard of them splitting just from flipping over too hard. But the most mellow by far of those three is the Chaco Golden-Kneed. Very sweet girl. 2/19/2009

Esteban Dasduke Taxonomy is about to see a major shake up. As the genome project continues we will no longer relie upon phenology to divide & subdivide life. While the three geni that you mentioned all make good companions, the finer distinctions that you make are much like saying; "all redheads are crazy!" hey wait a minute that would explain alot. 8/25/2008
