Jimi Hendrix was the only true genius in rock and roll because the word genius is supposed to refer to is a person who creates something that's new, and not only new, but significantly new, important, and somewhat of a milestone in human development. Jimi made that kind of contribution to the world of music, which is a very important part of human development.

Emanon I read this blog as I am a singer myself, and I love to research the great musical "geniuses" of all time as a form of enlightenment and education. As a fan of music, it is hard to measure the credibility of your opinions when you can so easily brush off the immense talents of other musicians that are not in the rock genre. Michael Jackson for instance is one of the greatest artists and musicians of all time. The music that he created will be around forever right alongside of Jimi's "Purple Haze" Not only do you dismiss the artists talents, but you insult the fans. That's just low buddy. All I'm saying I guess is, open your eyes. The landscape of music is a lot bigger than Rock n Roll. You might even have to consider the lyrical abilities of Hip-Hop artists GASPI respect your opinion but coming from someone who is trying to broaden his musical horizons himself DONT BE SO CLOSE MINDED! 8/25/2009
