Review: Are ProForm Treadmills a Good Value?

ProForm Treadmills are extremely propular. We know that ProForm offers an attractive price, with treadmills selling as low as $400. The question is, are they a an overall good value?

Shing W I purchased this trendmill 7 months ago, and the incline broke last month.

Proform contracted out the service and warranty call to Icon Health and Fitness, diagnosed it to be the incline motor that fail, and they said that I have to pay $50 (later reduced to $25) for a technician visit and $7 for shipping of an incline motor. Icon then contract out the services to Norex Trendmill for the on site visit to fix my trendmill.

The technician visited next week, determines that it wasn't the incline motor, but the console, wiring harness, and control board. I called Icon again and they send me the board, but got into a business argument between Icon and Norex. Norex refuse to service without a new work order, but Icon refuse to give out a new work order. Both companies tell me to wait for a call and call the other guy back, and I was stuck in the middle calling each company every other day, and still, no one is coming, and nothing is done.

I'm sick and tired of this. I spend $700 for this trendmill and it shouldn't just fail in 6 month in the first place, then shouldn't pay to have someone to fix it within warranty, then shouldn't have the contractors fight among each other and have me deal with all the mess on this.

Screw you Proform, I'll make sure this is posted everywhere I see fit so that your business will take a hit.

Sherri I would NEVER recommend a Proform treadmill. I purchased one last Christmas that has been out of commission nearly the entire time even though I purchased a two year warranty. The product is not reliable, it takes WEEKS for a technician to come to work on it, and the "repair" never seems to help. 8/11/2009

bobboy bought one with 10 year motor warranty at sears. they want $96 to
come out and look at it. the motor is bad and there is nothing in the
warranty about a service fee on warranty work.

Steve Nick My Proform treadmill is a super heavy piece of chit. After 30 sec of turning it on, none of the buttons will function. Customer service is terrible. 12/17/2006
